Rooney will recover in time. I can feel it in me bones, arghh.

Like Alan Hanson said, "With Rooney, you've got a great chance to win the World Cup. Without Rooney, you've got a chance".

Add to that Owen not 100% fit and we're in big trouble. It's all well and good having one of the best Midfields around, but if we've got no teeth up front we could end up losing games through wasted chances.

I was all for Defoe being in the England side at the start of the season, but he's gone off the boil. What other strikers have we got that we could rely on like Owen and Rooney?

Slim pickings... 🙁

Farfan isn't even Brazilian, so I don't know how he gets in the team! He's from Peru.

Humour it.

Don't overlook Terry, Gerrard, Lampard, Rio, Robinson, Carrick and people like that.

Pr-probably can overlook Carrick. Unless it's a Crouch lookalike contest.

I wasn't aware Owen was on the boil- thought he'd been injured for ages.

Hahaha "Awfully kind to Juninho". The man is better than most or all of England's squad. Save for maybe Lampard overall.

The key to that last part is that you assume teams around the world are shitting themselves because of Rooney.

If you are so supportive of England's team, then support THEM. Don't throw away their chances when one player is gone. Yes, he's a good player, yes they'd be thankful to have him in the World Cup, but England aren't all of a sudden the shittest team ever just because he's gone. Don't overlook Terry, Gerrard, Lampard, Rio, Robinson, Carrick and people like that.

Similarly, Sven doesn't seem to be able to stop licking Rooney. Has named him no matter what.

im not throwing away their chances. im just saying that the chances are more slim without rooney and now possibly owen. looks like we will be playing your idol crouch up front, and possibly defoe who hasnt scored for 2 months.

if owen and rooney are unavailable i would play 5 in the midfield.

-----------------------------------carrick

----------------------------gerrard----lampard

beckham------------------------------------------------------ cole joe

-----------------------------------crouch

i believe that without rooney and owen, england should still go through the group stages with ease. its after the groups that we will really need them.

Oh, dear gods...

you cant play defoe up there on his own matey. he would be lost.

Defoe is lost either way atm.

You were talking about Defoe being off the boil, and by implication, Owen being 'on the boil'.

Let lightning, liquid, lively Lennon support him in a free-role and you've got a Ronaldinho-Ronaldo thing going on.

lennon should go to the world cup imo. more so than wright phillips perhaps

Word like a m*ther-f*cker, biiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch!

I hate it when people presume to tell me what I'm trying to say...🙄

"I was all for Defoe being in the England side at the start of the season, but he's gone off the boil. What other strikers have we got that we could rely on like Owen and Rooney?"

There's a full-stop (period) half way through that sentence, which ends my comment about Defoe being off the boil.

I then go on to ask what strikers are about who are as reliable as Owen and Rooney are. At no point have I said that Owen is off the boil...just not 100% over his injury, according to Sky Sports News.

Thank you, and goodnight! 😉

What the hell? Hyperbole to the max.

-AC

It's a slight exaggeration, but nothing so OTT that I would call it 'hyperbole'. Perhaps, I should have likened the Spurs pair to Garrincha and Pele in their prime instead. Although, that doesn't really work either because Lennon is predominantly right-footed...

LMAO!

anyone see boris in the england vs germany match. friggin hilarious. havent laughed like that in a long time.

Yawn, McClaren.
