rooney tryed hard tonight . no one helped him at all, the midifeild was shit. hardly gave service to the strikers. rooney will play better with a fast striker alongside him. he is goin through a bad patch at the moment. he will come goodand im not saying beckham is the answer to englands problems, im saying he still has a lot to offer. lets choose shall we...phil neville or beckham..
That's the point, Deano. Rooney has been trying hard for how long? How many goals has he scored for England recently? Why is he not catching any shit? It's exactly as I said ages ago. The man has an almost year long bad patch, nobody says anything. Lampard has a few bad games, "Fat Frank!".

Why do you only turn up when it's to have a go at England?? It's pathetic.....
Danan nad-dd-d-d-ddnananana.
The last time I checked, you posted just to have a go at me. I can turn up when I please, for whatever reason.
Also, you did just laugh at me for saying Beckham is shit, did you not?

yeh but rooney is struggling for club and country. lampard plays great for chelsea and average for england. and the formation isnt helping either player.
i cant wait for owen to come back. that will help both players alot i think

So what does that tell you about Rooney? Furthermore, why does Rooney get less flack for doing worse? Lampard performs great around great players, Rooney is performing shit around everyone.
This is precisely the problem with England and the supporters of the team. One thing goes wrong and everyone feels the need to make ONE guy the bearer of hope. Beckham, Rooney, Owen etc. None of these extremely overrated and shit (Save for Rooney, who is good despite being overrated) players will stop the fact that England are a shit team.
Sooner or later people will realise that having a couple of world class players means nothing if they can't play as a team, and England can't. Macedonia gave them a hard game, for crying out loud.

Those goals make Sven look like even more of an idiot for not giving him a go.

Here's a couple of good articles about how bad England are at playing football:

well no because both players would still have to defend as much as attack. they ahve no choice.so makes no difference. call it what you like.
well... no.... 5-3-2 with wingbacks would be neville and cole primarily defending and going forward on attacks.
3-5-2 would be SWP and Downing primarily as wingers, helping with defensive duties... otherwise 4-4-2 could also be called 6-2-2.
---------
Carrick, Gerrard with SWP on the right and Downing on the left... i mean Downing isnt brilliant but he's the best left winger we have available atm. Also, creativity shouldnt be a problem there, Carrick has all the composure in the world and a brilliant range of passing as well... Gerrard is the only world class midfielder we have for obvious reasons, with Rooney dropping back a bit and Crouch/Defoe staying pinned upfront, a good coach should be able to get some creativity and goals out of that setup.
Cole, Terry, King and Neville dont need a defensive midfielder infront of them to save them, but Carrick isnt exactly the most adventurous midfielder for going forward... and although he's not famed for his tackling, he can disrupt attacking flow because he's great at intercepting passes.
its this whole 'we need a defensive midfielder' thing that's ****ing up England atm, i mean sure, when you play Brazil or any other high-flair country you need more defensive aspects in your midfield... but that doesnt mean we need one for more convential-play countries like Croatia etc.
I've never actually seen Gerrard 'control a whole game'.
You know, really do it. Not just based on faulty hindsight or opaque rose glasses.
The cup finals he has supposedly won single-handedly seem to have metamorphosed in people's minds.
What is certain, as well, is if he has ever done that for Liverpool, he has never ever come close to doing that for England.
International managers (of England, mostly) tend to pick on history and hype/reputation, neglecting form completely. It's absolutely ****ing stupid. Why can Bent get nowhere near the team? How much worse can he do than Rooney? Or than Crouch when the opposition isn't a nation where the country's top goalscorer also delivers your mail.
How much worse could some new players do than this shower of shit? What exactly are they hanging on for by refusing to start newer players?
As well, like it or not, England sorely, sorely miss Beckham. I was one of his biggest critics, and I still feel he is overrated. However, now he has stepped aside, it's quite clear there is absolutely **** all in the way of creativity.
What does Carrick do again? Pass? Shall we start picking players who can 'kick'? 'Run'?
