The timing of his run for the second goal was impeccable, but yeah he isn't very good, at all. I read in some sports page that he's even a joke figure in Italy.
I thought Mascherano and Pennant were really good in the first half, but no individual really stuck out for me, by the end. Nesta was very solid, but apart from that nothing all that memorable. Kind of disappointing.

The REF was SOOOO biast it was inbelievable, no wonder all 5 games he ref´d for liverpool they lost, and the 8 ref´d for Milan, milan won every one. The first goal was a handball by the way
Liverpool need a world class striker, Kuyt runs arround like a lunatic on speed but acheives nothing. Hopefully they´ll buy Tevez🙂

Owen was always a poacher. Nothing wrong with it, but that's all he's ever been, and even then his greatest asset was speed, which he could use to keep trying and eventually score after catching a defender on the turn and out-pacing him, maybe. Then again, so could many players.
I don't know if you lived in England at that point, but he was just a young, fast guy, who scored a lot of goals through poaching, yet given a good defense, could do nothing. It was just the standard English public felching a young goalscorer thing, like Rooney, but not as good as Rooney WAS.

Liverpool's goal was offside.
They need more than a world class striker. If they want to win the league, they need a new manager.
Talk about anticlimax. Disappointing Uefa, FA and Champions league finals, Berbatov wasn't even nominated for player of the season and Chelsea still managed to win two trophies. Disillusioned.

You've got me there. I've seen a few clips of England Vs Argentina '98 style goals back in his younger years but that was before my time, as it were.

It's not your fault, but he's just another one of THOSE, if you get my point.
That one goal against Argentina is what he's essentially living off. It doesn't matter now cos they've got Rooney to felch for another 10 years, despite the fact he'll never be as good.
It happened with Beckham as a young player too. If anyone deserves such praise, it's Lennon or Bent.

He's an excellent finisher and good dribbler with a Henrik Larsson-like positional awareness. All of that, and that he was one of the most impressive individuals in the English league (certainly outside of the Man United and Chelsea squads) this season, is true. Anything more than that is getting into the overrating zone, but this Spurs we're talking about here, I think the fans can be forgiven for going a little crazy over a genuinely world class player, they don't get many.

Yep just watched a replay your right, and Liverpool do need a new manager to win the league.
When he took mascherano off this became obvious to me, what a mistake. He was the only one who was keeping Kaka out of the game, and after he was taken off kaka stabbed the killer pass.
Should have played Crouch from the start, Milans defense is too good in the air. And Kuyt just runs arround like a blue arsed fly and achieves nothing.

Well, Kuyt and Crouch are evidence of Benitez's poor buys, in my opinion. Kuyt is good, actually, but in a league-winning side he'd be a squad player.
All of Benitez's triumphs in English football have been caked in fortune. Last minute recovery against West Ham; a game that should have been over against AC Milan, not to mention the luck in getting past Chelsea that year, and the narrow squeak past them this year.
Fair enough, they won the games. To pretend they were all masterstrokes of tactical brilliance though is silliness. It seems to have become a shibboleth that he is a tactical genius, alongside others such as Gerrard's magical influence/driving on, or England being screwed out of every tournament they enter.
