Judging from the way tottenham are playing, i think they're gonna make mid table, while Arsenal are gonna be in the top 4 for sure.

You're from Canada, what do you know? Go watch hockey instead.

Oh dear haha, Kevy, next time you try to defend Spurs... do it in a manner that wont just end up with you being laughed at.

With Kaboul, King, Dawson, Bale, Ekotto, YPL injured and Stalteri and Gardner a pile of championship quality excrement we have no defence literally... And with Jenas, Gardner, Robbo and Berbatov playing poorly, plus Martin Jol picking seemingly picking his players positions for the game randomly out of a hat (except for his love-child Jenas ofcourse..) there is no defending the performances.

We need a drastic turn around against Derby... if we can beat them decisively there may be some hope for this season, but if we play as poorly as we have in the previous two games, there may well be some serious questions asked of Jol's tactics and team selections.

Well Man united have dropped 4 point in their first two games, 4 points is a lot to be a adrift for a team who wants to win the title. With Rooney out for 3 months and C. Ronaldo banned for a couple of games after nutting someone it aint looking good for Man U. Any top team would miss these two players.

Jenas poor? What do you call a goal assist last Tuesday night? @sshole

I call it a goal assist, not something that affords a player the accolade of not being called poor.

Yeah. If you don't beat Derby I fear for your season. Confidence will be non-existent.

It was a set piece as well... hardly a fair reflection on his general performance in the game.

He ran around aimlessly, made lateral passes, and contributed almost nothing in open play. Just like he always does.

Huddlestone should be brought in ahead of Jenas, he's creative at least, something Spurs lack atm. He's also not gonna fall over whenever someone gets within 5yds of him like Jenas would.

Jol's buying has been shocking.

edit.

it is early in the season, but hopefully jol wil pick things up... jol always struck me as a decent manager...

jols a terrible manager, for all the crap decisions he makes its shocking they finished 5th last season. good call buying berbatov though.

i heard he is trying to bring van der vaart, and also he might be coaching the dutch national team.

Yup, without a doubt.
If I had to make a list at the start of pre-season of players Spurs NEEDED it'd go something like this:

1. Left winger. Taraabt and Bale are being lined up for this role, and were good purchases, but we need someone for now as well, they're both 18. I, personally, would have fought tooth and nail to get Pedersen from Blackburn.

2. A creative midfielder. Jenas is ****ing awful, im sorry if people don't agree with that, but they must be watching a different Jenas than me. He's too lateral, can doing everything ok but nothing well, he's weak on the ball as well. I would have put in an early bid for Van De Vaart or Sneijder (but knowing what we know now, Sneijder would probably still have gone to Madrid). Kevin Prince Boateng is a good player, and will be a fantastic player, but we need a great player for now... every top 4 team has at least 1 fantastic centre midfielder.

3. A reserve rightback. Chimbonda is brilliant imo, but we need someone to come in if he gets injured (god forbid). I honestly can't think who we should have bought though, good, available right backs are pretty thin on the ground.

4. A reserve centreback. It's painfully obvious now that Ledley's knees are shot, Kaboul will be brilliant, and has shown he is already. This is the only one of the 4 that Jol has actually adressed properly.

As for Spurs' purchases.

Bent - Yea, he's a good English striker, but 16.5m? we could have strengthened TWO areas that actually NEEDED strengthening with that money.

Bale - 10.5m is alot, but he's a good young leftwinger/leftback and with todays market, this can maybe be justified.

Taraabt - one for the future definately, he's played for us in the EPL before and played well, even against Chelsea. He's performed well in pre-season too, which begs the question... why isnt our only player capable on the left... not playing??

Boateng - Potentially great player, good buy imo.

Berchiche - Best left back in the world in his age group... supposedly... we'll see when/if Jol actually plays him i guess.

Kaboul - Looks solid, looks like he can become one of the better centrebacks in the EPL.

Apparently Jol wants him to prove himself in the reserves, which doesn't say a lot about the pre-season games they had.

3-0 at the moment.

Well he's just come on against Derby and proved his potential, he played well for the 20mins he was on.

Taraabt is going to be a superstar. I love Jol - in a cuddly, soft, sexy way - but I was gutted that he played Routledge ahead of him against Derby.

Still, despite the opening blip, Spurs will finish 3rd. Fo' Sho'!

manchester derby...

micah richards has to be one of the first names on mclaren's team sheet from now on... the man is nothing short of brilliant...

ferguson takes off nani (until that point united's best chance of getting something), and leaves on tevez, who gets worse as the game goes on...

carrick was meh, hargreaves at least made the effort...

fair dues to city though...

Micah is too good.

Not that that idiot will take any notice.

i can't believe people are still rating rio as being as good as terry (who's decent enough), but i even heard someone mention sol campbell...

sol. campbell. the man who managed to nutmeg himself. 🤨

i can see city doing well this year... richards and dunne are awesome, an that corlucka looks like a really good bit of business...

I often wonder why the Spurs decided to contract him. One of his former teams is RKC Waalwijk, one of Holland's shittiest teams, and he managed to make them even shittier. And after that he was active in Saudi-Arabia or something.

They won't get Van Der Vaart, for a few simple reasons; Valencia wants him, HSV won't let him go anyway, and if they do decide to let him go, Spurs probably won't be able to afford him. As for Jol wanting to coach the Dutch team, it will never happen, every big honcho of the KNVB knows how shit Jol is. They might have made some mistakes with contracting Advocaat or Van Basten, but they're not that stupid.
