I actually tipped Arsenal to be a contender, the youth work will produce its fruit eventually, maybe this year.

Who´s this new Chelsea manager, never heard of him is it a temporary thing?

realilistically its a temporary thing, but they've said hes a permanent appointment. after they start dropping points he'll most likely get fired.

he was brought over to chelsea in the summer from portsmouth to be the director of football at chelsea, i dont know any teams hes actually coached though. i think it was a convenience thing more than anything else that he got the job, right time right place.

But Chelsea will need a dominant personality who has achieved respect through experience.

I smell a "lets put him in, he´ll do what we say" scenario.

If this is the case then its free fall time for Chelsea.

Could be on to a hiding today against Man U.

They're not going to become Wycombe Wanderers right away.

Actually, I suppose it's possible that such a drastic free fall could be possible, I just doubt it.

yeah i dont see taht happening, but i aslo dont see them reclaiming the title this season either, especially with the loss today.

They did well today if you consider the unwarranted sending off which spoiled the game, well for the neutral viewer like me anyway.

Ok they won´t become Wycombe Wanderers, but they won´t make the champions league either imo.

I can't see them not making the CL; that's going a bit too far. They won't win the league though.

Currently I am leaning towards:

1) Arsenal
2) Man United
3) Chelsea
4) Liverpool

Man United may just win it due to the quality of their squad (of refs).

i think manchester'll recover the form they had last year in the next few weeks and go on a 10 or 15 game win streak, especially as they have relatively easy league games for the next little while.

i could definitely see arsenal continuing their good run though and keep the gap at 5 points.

No doubt it's highly sensationalised, though.

I can't see Chelsea suffering too much.

Heres my predictions 🙂

1. Liverpool:- If Benitez stops tinkering they´ll win the title, if not then they´ll come 3rd.

2. Arsenal:- Some clever strategic managers will do a catanacho on them stealing some points, which wil frustrate them, plus the numerous London derby´s will take their toll

3. Man united:- They still have problems scoring imo, and a few draws to many will hold em back. Plus some injury problems could creep in.

4. Man City :-as long s Micah Richards isn´t sold off, I know one man doesn´t make a team, but he is simply world class and that makes a big difference especially in the defence. The lads like a Brasilian defender also goes forward.

Looking again closely at Mikels sending off against Man u yesterday on youtube. I think the ref was right, he went in with both feet, studs up and could have caused some serious damage. The refs have guidelines set so he had no choice really, although Im sure some folk here wil disagree.

He played the ball and it's very harsh to call it a two footed tackle really.

He didn't even go to ground.

When I saw it first I thought it was a bad challenge and I said right away he would get a red card.. after seeing it again though I think it was a harsh. A yellow would have been enough. Although the ref clearly said that he thought it was two footed which equals a red card.. and Joe Cole should have been sent off later anyway so it evens itself out in my eyes.

The fact is it was two footed studs up which equals a red card, those are the guidelines whether he touched the ball or not.

And the other events have nothing to do with this one. The "but he didn´t give a red card here or there" argument is just silly.

it was a two footed tackle, it wasnt the most dangerous two footed tackle ive ever seen but it was nonetheless a two foot tackle that he dived in to. thats a red card for me.

But it's like Lehmann in the Champions League, isn't it?

Technically a sending off, but they went on to score. If he'd just kept him on they've have the advantage anyway, I think that with a bit of initiative, Mikel would have stayed, oh well.
