Yep the Gunners are like that runner in the 800 meters who waits for the last 80 meters then goes past the two at the front and pips em at the line, the question is will they make their move too soon🙂

A football league isn't really like a race. There is no such thing as making a move too early because Wenger won't be telling his team "We must catch up to Chelsea" he'll be saying "3 points this week" and he'll be saying it every week, until the end of the season.

Consistancy is what wins a team the league, and consistancy can be shaken quite easily by the January transfer season. We'll simply just have to wait, watch and enjoy.

I know, but it often seems that way and I wonder if there isn´t a bit of strategy in there.

I'm sure there us strategy for the lesser teams (as seen by wolves) but the top 4 and those around them will go for a win every week. Every point counts to them.

Anyone think that Rafa will head the way of Gary Megson and Alan Irvine soon?

I know they beat Villa in the dying seconds but drawing to Reading with a pretty much full strength team? Not to mention that Reading outplayed the reds.

This is why you don't foolishly make comments about loyalty.

It's nice, but as a footballer you want to win things. Maldini wouldn't have stayed at Milan had they not had such success, and Buffon is the only guy who hasn't had massive success at club level recently.

Gerrard has gone on and on about wanting to be a Liverpool player forever and see his career out there, but he's never gonna win the league with them. He'll have to leave, and then what will his words look like?

He was GOING to go to Chelsea, people forget that, but he stayed due to death threats (That's EXACTLY why he stayed, don't think otherwise).

So you know Gerrard personally then do you?

It probably isn´t just loyalty which keeps him there, maybe he´s happy where he is.

If I was a football star I´d be wanting to go somewhere warm like Spain or Italy for certain, no doubt about that..

I'd say Gerrard is about as loyal as a footballer of his caliber can be. He will stay with Liverpool through a lot more than Torres but if he isn't getting the service from the midfield frustration will set in and he'll move, if only for his sanity.

I know that the deal was borderline certain, agents and teams were almost confirming it. Commentators were saying it.

It was at the stage that more or less guaranteed transfers get to; like when we were all waiting to see what Arshavin's situation was. He was obviously going to come, it was just everything but the paperwork.

Then Gerrard got death threats...and all of a sudden he's a Red for life.

Liverpools youth squad played a fantastic game beating Leicester City 5-1. Very strong performance and maybe a good sign for the club in the future?

And what is this nonsense of Gerrard? Players get death threats on a regular basis, I doubt he's reasoning behind not wanting to make a switch to another club wasn't solely based on that. However, once a Red always a Red.

Arsenal's and United's youth team did well in the cup, this doesn't mean that their senior teams of the future are garunteed to be good.

The problem Liverpool may suffer is financial, getting knoecked out in the 1st round and then not getting in the next year will hit them hard financially. The big clubs need consistant Champions League showings to maintain their standard of club.

I like how the fans are all suddenly out of hiding when they actually beat a good team.

Guess what, you're still 3rd tier.

I'm not a Leeds supporter, it was just nice to see an upset, that's what the FA cup is there for. I'm a Newcastle supporter... So I'm second tier.

And also, there is nothig wrong with supporting a league 1 team... Or even a non-league team. I think it's much more respectable supporting your local team than Manchester United or Arsenal like everyone else. (even if they've never been to Manchester or London.)

I was thinking that maybe an African team might win the world cup this year, but after watching some "African cup of nations" games this week it could be very doubtful.

totally abysmal defending in some cases not to mention goalkeeping which makes England´s keepers look world class. I think they´ll be lucky if one team gets to the K´O round.

As for Algeria, who is in Englands group, I can smell a stuffing in the oven.

You actually reckoned that an African team was in with a shout? Even the Ivory Coast doesn't stand a chance.

Alright.

I'm from Yorkshire, and a huge wave of Leeds fans came out of nowhere since the FA win.

To be honest, I agree, it's great that Leeds won, and it's also better to support your local team rather than whoever's at the top of the prem.

I think it's hilarious how even in Doncaster you get Manchester United fans fighting Liverpool fans.

Was even better when all the Leeds fans came out of hiding.

Well thats the most you can do then isn't it, support your local club through thick and thin and stand by them even when things get rough. Of course people are going to jump all over Leeds because of this win, it could possibly be a good sign for the club, who knows.

But that'd happen with any lower division team who beats Manchester United.

Personally, I think not supporting your local club is stupid, but, that's me.

especially with the group they are in, just shows a few top players doesn´t make a top team. Especially when the defense can´t be bothered to run back, go for 1 on 1´s and generally defend a bit.

Give one reason why supporting your local team is stupid?
