Why should anyone have to support their local ANYTHING?
That's something that IS stupid.
West Ham United are my local team, well...West Ham United and Charlton Athletic.
Why would I support a team I dislike simply because of location? It's that kind of thinking that causes racism and starts wars.
Also, I wonder if this is the moment when Liverpool fans will actually shut the f*ck up and stop saying it's "their" season every time.
Also again, welcome to Liverpool Maxi Rodriguez. Not sure what you were thinking.

Edit: Just realised I agreed when I said that it was stupid not to support your local team.... This was amistake, as I don't support my local team.

Well thats the most you can do then isn't it, support your local club through thick and thin and stand by them even when things get rough. Of course people are going to jump all over Leeds because of this win, it could possibly be a good sign for the club, who knows. But that'd happen with any lower division team who beats Manchester United.
Personally, I think not supporting your local club is stupid, but, that's me.
That's the main reason for the uproar. It was pre-emptive.

You definitely have a problem with Liverpool, you can´t stop mentioning them. I recon deep down inside your a Liverpool fan, but won´t let your true feelings surface, do breathing exercises it might help🙂
So Maxi is coming on a free transfer, can´t see him changing anything and with Gerrard, Torres and Benayoun injured I think they are heading for a dive in the premiership, and with missing out on Europe next season a big hole in finances.
Definitely "Liverpool´s year", fail year🙂
Go to the Liverpool forum known as the Red and White Kop, read any main sent into any sports publication by a majority of Liverpool fans.
Only now are they getting pissed off.
Before, no matter what happened, they were always awesome and so was Rafa. There's optimism and then there's annoyingly blind arrogance. I have nothing against Liverpool fans rooting for Liverpool, but when you say it's "your" year EVERY year, despite clearly never playing like champions or having the team to do it? That's dumb, especially when you don't just believe it, but you believe it to the point that you'll debate people over it.
Arsenal have a much better team, starting 11 and squad, than Liverpool. They play better football almost every season. They get better every season.
Do you see me saying: "This is our year"? No, because it probably won't be. The difference is, Arsenal are good enough to win the league, team-wise. They have the ability to play like champions.
Liverpool aren't, and don't.

It really is.
There was recently a thread there, Liverpool Vs Arsenal, player for player.
Only three Arsenal players got into the Liverpool team according to the Liverpool forum.
Not only is Cesc Fabregas a better player than anyone they've got (When you consider their two bests are Gerrard and Torres), but you throw in the likes of Arshavin and co and it's a question of who would get into Arsenal's side.
-AC
You can´t make that comparison as both teams play total different styles of football and need certain players to fit into the system.
Cesc is an amazing player and would fit into any team, the same for Van Persie & Arshavin.
As for Liverpool players who would fit into the Arsenal team Yossi Benayoun comes immediately to mind for some reason, Gerrard would also be effective with his work rate and versatility I´m not sure Torres would fit into the system that well.
One thing for sure, if the teams totally swapped clubs and styles for a while they would both be VERY bad.
What puzzles me is how commentators and pundits say that Liverpool's win yesterday was much needed and could boost them.
Maybe the idea of winning, sure, but they played like shit. Spurs played bad and still outplayed them, even having a goal disallowed. Granted, Liverpool scored one more anyway, and Kuyt could have had a hat trick, but still.
Get excited over good performances.
A season or two ago, Arsenal might have struggled or even lost, but not only did we win, we came back to win with enough goals to go top. That's why, until someone is mathematically out of it, you don't say the title race is over.

Anyone see the Egypt V Algeria semi final (African cup of nations)?
One things for sure this tournament brings up many oddities, like Algeria trying to get as many red cards as Egypt´s goals. And loosing 4:3 (reds) (0 goals). Algeria had a serious lack of discipline problem, hope this continues in the world cup just hope England players like Rooney don´t catch on and get sent of as well.
