Arsenal played very poor, such naive tactics.

The defense should have stayed back. Had we not given them counter attacks, it likely would have ended 1-1.

Leeds played pretty well.

Tottenham dominated that game, and a great way to finish for Defoe to teach Leeds a lesson about last minute goals.

But this way it was enjoyable to the neutral observer.

I'm one of the several million fans of soccer around the world. I support Newcastle and wow what a victory by Newcastle United yesterday, a 5-1 victory which is simply superb. It was a fun game to watch especially the own goal by Gyepes.

Any opinions on John Terry´s captaincy los?

Should what you do in your private life play a role in your professional life?

No, not really.

Not if it leaves your professional life unaffected.

Stripping Terry of his captaincy was the right thing to do, in my opinion.

Why was it?

I don't like John Terry at all, I've always felt he was a complete mug and he's sort of confirmed it by cheating despite having kids. That's not something to do anyway, let alone with a family.

How does this affect him as a player, though?

Personally, I never rated him high as a captain anyway, but this isn't a reason to strip him.

I know people are going with the "He's a role model to kids." idea, but so what? That's not his job. So he isn't a good role model. If he's considered a good defender, that's what should win out.

It's like when Disney stars get caught smoking pot in their free time. So what? They aren't paid to be your kids' role models 24/7.

He slept with Wayne Bridge's girlfriend. So it might affect the England team dynamic a bit.

Estranged girlfriend.

Still a dirty move, but not one that should affect professionalism. If Matt Hardy, a professional wrestler, can get over his co-worker ****ing and stealing his woman and actually work with him in the ring, Wayne Bridge (Paid WAY more) can do the same.

agreed. I couldnt even care less what happens in the personal lives, and why should it? no matter what sport just love the sport for what it is, and ignore the crap that happens away from it. they're human, despite what they're paid and should be treated as such. why we have become so engrossed in the personal lives of such average beings will always stump me.

The main reason I think it was the right thing to do, is because acting fast and with a firm hand shows a discipline not seen in the past few England managers. Capello's sent a message, to both the press and the players.

I doubt it, they´ll probably joke about what odd noises she made whilst being boned.

Its all about preserving the false image that Football players are suit wearing business men like, well behaved decent people🙂

Anyone here ever played in a football club?
when on trips to far away towns what sort of antics and fun happened after the game, (how long was the queue at the brothel🙂

Capello caves to the press and the public anyway.

He kept saying only players who are in-form would get in, but he insisted on Heskey for an age and a half.

If the press hadn't been on this story, Capello wouldn't have stripped him of captaincy. It's probably just him saying: "You'll get it back when this dies down.".

I recon he´ll get it back before the world cup as well,

He might get a cap during the cup, say if Ferdy was injured.

I prefer Ferdinand to Terry anyway, and am glad he's the new captain.

I think a midfielder should be captain, so the game can be developed in a positive sense, ie score goals.

Aye I agree, a midfielding captain just sounds better. Not that defenders aren't known for inspiration, its just...

well it's more inspiring to lead from the front now isn't it?

Defenders have a defensive mentality seeing as its their responsibility to keep the goal safe, except some right & left backs who like to run the line of course.

Defenders do have the advantage of seeing the game play on the pitch.

Though, I agree, midfielders are best for caps.
