Things you liked and didnt like about episode 3

Started by Heather 2910 pages

I liked Anikin & Padame's Closenes in the beginning of the Film.
I did not like it when Anikin KIlled the younglings, and then a while after that Hurt his own wife Padame. It wasn't her fault, she was right. anikin was going down a path she could not & would not follow.
and that he just had to follow Palpitine,

I hated how fast Grievous went down. He was renowned for killing many jedi yet suddenly bang bang bang and he has no arms.

no what sucked a$$ about it that all the jedi with the power of the force dies so fast whats up with that u see aarua sakura die and after she is dead the clone soldiers keep fireing even tho she is died whats up with that and plo koon u see him 4 like 5 sec. he should have a fight secne even with his jedi fighter but noooo the two fighters in back of him slow down and blast him down atle

st the teenage boy died in blazing glory

First a comment to complete Star Wars bashers:
It's pathetic that we have to endure a few posters who only come here to annoy others and express their venom with a movie series that they obvious don't appreciate. I agree with the person who said that when you don't like a movie, you just stop talking about it and move on. When you DO like one, you may even search message boards and discuss it, so it's odd that they would be here in the first place imho. So please, if you can't discuss a movie of this callibur with any class, then go away. It's one thing to disagree and talk about a few things you didn't like, and another entirely to act like whiny children who are just trying to tick people off, especially on a board like this one where people come to talk about something they enjoy, good or bad. A little respect goes a long way in life.... try it. Okay, vent over.

That being said:
Dislikes.... not many for me:
1. Watching Anakin fall so quickly... some more inner turmoil would have been better.... and some glimpse of the life-saving technique would have been nice.
2. Padme. She wasn't herself in this one.
3. The transformation into the Vader suit... I agree that it would have been nice to see more of this part.

Likes.... pretty much everything else, but especially:
1. Anakin.... I thought he was very believable this time around... likable, but a tormented soul. I found myself wanting to see more of his inner turmoil, because it's really helped shape who Vader became for me. Also, he looked fantastic and loved that he was a total badass, so no compliants there. 😉
2. The way the scene was done when Anakin and Padme were looking out across each other and he made the choice not to save her.... or so we thought.
3. The opening fighting scene was fantastic. Obi and Anakin were fabulous here.
4. The ending fighting scene with Obi was awesome too.... sad, emotional, traumatic. Loved it.
5. Finally, I loved how it came full circle with Ep IV.

Well said about the bashers.

I agree you dont like the movie, fine. You come here post your thoughts in a review thread, fine. You come in here and respond to every positive post with crap like yeah but that part sucked or worse crap like "Sith Sux @$$" and "Lucas is gay" then you are just being an *******. Why dont you just go find a "Monster In-Law" forum and talk about how much you loved it.

yeah he kept his name skywalker.... remember the whole point of Star Wars is that it is supposed to be a cheesey space opera serial a la the 1940s..... that's also why everybody is so connected, because it's not supposed to be completely realistic, it's meant to be sortof cheesy

I liked Anakin's character in the beginning, before he cuts of Dooku's head. It was like complete opposite of Anakin in EP II.
When Yoda does the big Force thing on the guards!!
The scene with Anakin and Padme across the city was probably the most tasteful scene in all Star Wars movies.
Minimal C-3PO was very good.
The Padewan trying to escape was cool.
The killing of the Younglings was an important step in Vader's step towards the Dark Side.

Dislikes
I would have liked to see more of the Wookie battle.
The Tarzan yell.
I thought they overdid the sentence structuring of Yoda. Watch Empire Strikes Back. He didn't reverse every thing he says.
Not much else.

BTW, I was saying something to my wife at the time, so I missed it, but what did Bail tell Capt. Antilles about C-3PO when he gave him the 'droids. Was it something about clearing his memory????
Thanks.

Yeah he simply says have the protocol droid's mind wiped.

OK, cool, that's what I thought. I looked up and saw C-3PO with that WTF look, and had been wondering since. Thanks alot astrofan428. 😄

What I liked:

The begining space battle
The way they tied Clone Wars TV series to the movie(General Grevious coughing because Mace messed him up as he kidnapped the chancelor)
Palpatine was scary and his scenes were great
Order 66 (who didn't like that)
watching the mask go on Darth Vader. (I almost felt bad for the guy)
The fact that the galaxy fell because of a woman.
Obi and Yoda's performance in the movie was great

Wht I didn't like

General Grevious wasn't depicted as the badass he really is.
Dooku was killed way too easily
Answers to lots of questions were not answered (who ordered the clone army, who is Anakin's father, what signifigance is Darth Plageus, who was Sypho Diaz, explination of medichlorians.)
Anakin turned to the dark side too quickly
Not enouph suited Darth Vader. I would have loved to see him hunt down some jedi.
Some of the dialogue was terrible.

any scene where padme and anikan were in the same room was unbearable.

padme, dying of a broken heart...

padme saying, that anikan was breaking her heart, who the **** would actually say that...

anikans "what have i done"

the whole darth vader bit once the suit is on (the frankenstien walk, the dialogue, i can't beleive they wasted J.E.Jones on "where's padme... is she alright.... Noooooo!!!!"😉

dooku dying so early, when grevious had no real reason to exist.

grevious precariously insufficient vital organ housing...

the countless events that makes everything any one ever said in the original movies a complete and utter lie.

they forgot to erase owens memory...

-----------

other than that i loved it!!!

I too hated the love scenes. The rest was good, despite minor flaws

The love scenes in this one are bearable... I skip through the ones in Episode II. No, seriously I do. They're that bad. They're the reason I don't show that film to other people... it's embarrasing.

The only thing I didn't particularly like in the movie was the lack of Vader being Vader. We know he did terrible things..but I would've liked to actually see a few of them. Slaughtering Seps isn't all that bad a thing.
Other than that: Perfecto.

i forgot to say what i liked....

the CGI in this movie was SO much better... (Ep2 looked like a video game)...

i liked the way ani defended R2D2, and the way he'd make R2 waitoutside when he'd go to do something evil... (just made me think of KOTOR),

I liked the way cody and obiwan seemed to get along quite well... the when order 66 is issued, cody doesn't even flinch... it was beutifully cold!!!

the way they keep shooting the female jedi on the flower planet even though she's totally dead (reminded me of HALO)

the kid on the ramp (George Lucas' son) who saves bail organa... he totally went off!!! i was actually sad to see him die.

the opera scene... the look on palpy's face when he tells about killing his master in his sleep (that cheeky deviant smile is enough to make me watch this film repeatedly...)

taking out the kids in the jedi temple... the way he doesn't say anything, just lights his sabre, and the way the kid jumps back, it's just nasty...
what is truly horrible (in anawsome way) is when obiwan checks the surveilance camera... imagine seeing footage someone close to you, that you were training, remorslessly kill a whole bunch of kids... that was some pretty heavy shit right there...

there are lots of others... but those scenes made it great...

one thing i liked and disliked, was yoda knocking down the red guards...
it was good... but...

ever since 1983, all i have ever wanted is to see those guys fight...
and now i never will...

🙁

I hated it when one of the Wookies did the Tarzan yell... 😬

That was a reference to the same tarzan yell that chewie did in return of the jedi, you know, when he swings on the vine to jump on one of those bi-ped walking destroyer things...

Yeah, it sucked then too.

it was supposed to be funny. Star Wars isn't all serious - you just have to accept it man! Let go of your hate!!

Which is exactly why it sucks so much.

Though, if anything, having the Tarzan yell in Episode III gives Chewie's in Episode VI more respectablity... so I can't really complain.
