I have to agree doing a trilogy after Return of the Jedi wouldn't be anywhere near as good as going before, because there's no way I'd want to see Han, Luke or Leia get recasted with younger actors and that's what I'm afraid would happen.
After seeing Revenge of the Sith for a second time I'm more hungry for another trilogy. 😱
I like the idea of them doing more Star Wars movies, not them acutally doing them.
Truth be told, the only good villains we could get out of another trilogy would be some dark Jedi (ooh, scary) or some remnants of the empire (i just pissed myself). It wouldn't be very compelling, but it would have Han.
Here's a thought I had...
Even though Anakin does destroy the Sith in ROTJ, and the force is balanced, is there any reason to believe that it could not become unbalanced again? Is there anything that says the balance would be permanent?
You know... Return Of The Sith! LOL!!! 😆 But seriously... what if after the events of ROTJ, a dark jedi were to TRY to re-create the Sith order? Perhaps someday (many many years from now, Lucas will explore the idea of an episode 7 - but I'm not getting my hopes up 😛 )
Ive said it before and ill say it again, there will be more expisodes but not anythime soon anyways and for sure not directed by lucas. I know i want another film and i know most of you guys want to see more. What really bugs me is that people who bash others when they post a thread like this think they know it all. Just look at the facts, opening weekend profits was $300 million, why stop now.
I hope your right DarkYoda it would be cool to see green dude in acttion how old would he be hes a 900 amazing he would be 800 he kinda like turtle with cane next he is grasshoper lol i hope there's a new one past and future of Starwars now that would Mayjor rock dose anyone agree check on the web casting thing it says do and it said 100 years befor starwars I i would like that alot on cbc.com this lady said Lucas is man boy playing with his toys i dissagree here are some things she said (no jokeing people here is some)
baby-babble place names like “Naboo” and “Dagobah” without any live person saying: “That’s really stupid, George.” He is as much of a sequestered loner as Woody Allen, and oddly, his films suffer from the same insularity: while Allen can’t rub some mythic version of New York out of his eyes, Lucas is so out of touch that he actually thought Jar Jar Binks — a yes-massah, jive talkin’ elephant slave — would appeal to children. He has done such a good job at faking a world that there is nothing human to cling to within its walls. No blood is spilled when all these troops go down. It is a war of ideas, not people. Most abhorrent in the turgid Episode II — Attack of the Clones Yoda was. Whenever I awoke, the small green Jedi master seemed to be doing something vaguely humiliating, like striking a kung fu pose or bastardizing Buddhism. I’ve always hated Yoda. All those powers, but he can’t master grammar. “Stopped they must be; on this all depends.” No, all depends on the subject and the predicate in correct relation. some is kinda funny but some is just mean and i hope theirs another movie starwars haters could last a while longer and some say Lucas is a one trick pony i think it's amazing how a guy makes a few movie and still is well know and no ones yawning well thats all.

If any movies are to be made, it would be Episodes VII, VIII, IXWhy would he go negative in episode numbers?
To give us a vision of the Star Wars universe of the distant past .
Personally I love the idea and hope he gets off his ass to produce them soon .... I ain't gettin' any younger .
I don't think he will do 7,8,9 but here's what I would like to see:
20 years have past since ROTJ, now Luke is married with a kid, and Han & Leia are married and have 2 kids. You focus the sequel trilogy on the kids. That would make the whole saga of Star Wars about 3 generations of Skywalkers. You can still have Luke, Leia, and Han in it, but you focus on the kids and make them compelling enough where we love them as much as their parents.
For a bad guy, which you definitely need a cool one. I believe Lucas should have 2 villains this time, but they are not on each others side. The republic thinks they are working together like the sith do, but they both have different agendas. You have one villain who is loved, and leads his men by loyalty. You then have another villain, who leads by fear like Vader.
Lucas would definitely have to come up with a totally different story than the previous 6 films. You can't have another death star, or Luke turning the dark side. That would get repetitive, and I think people would start to lose interest. There are so many worlds that Lucas can make, and I'm sure if he sat down, and got the hunger back to make a great Star Wars Trilogy, he could write something that would blow our minds away! But as I said I just don't see it happening.
these murmurs of a new trilogy are indeed intruiging. the idea of another set of prequels about yoda and the jedi vs the sith sounds very cool. however if GL went with VII, VIII & IX & decided to base it on EU novels id much rather see timothy zahns "grand admiral thrawn" trilogy instead of the still very good "jedi academy" trilogy. grand admiral thrawn is a very cool bad guy 😛
I don't think that will happen because that would just spoil the 1st and 2nd Trilogy. I heven't yet seen the Revenge of the Sith yet but it is meant to be the best yet in the new trilogy. I think that episode 2 was a bit of a letdown to be honest. It was more of a love story thatn a classic that star wars has been well known for. The action did not start to kick in untill nearing the end of the film.
