Muhammad Ali or Bruce Lee?

Lee could out philosophize Ali though, that "be like water" bit was profound.

True, but Ali had the cooler brags.
And he was a poet.
And a natural comedian. 😛

Its a pity Lee never explored the art of the brag.
He could have been a contender.
He'd be like: "First in order to drink my the tea of my knowledge, your cup must truly be empty...............................

...............and it will be after I've drank it and put my foot up your ass." 😛

If there were no rules i think Ali would take it, being that as fast as bruce lee was... he speed wasn't inhuman. nor was his strength and technique. granted. over 111 pages worth of this argument and people still have there disagreements. Ali has lee beat overall. Overall being Size, Strength, endurance(possibly), And reach. I'm sure bruce lee was an incredible martial artist. And I'm sure Lee has Ali in speed and agility. The odds are still against lee. There's no actual fighting record for lees fights, while ali's were documented. It's not to say that Ali automatically better. It just means that with the evidence give Ali seems to take this one.

A thought to consider on Bruce's supposed speed advantage:

"....And now: The part of Bruce Lee will be played by Brian London......" 😛

(Note the full power behind the shots in the corner and the cheeky little shuffle he does whilst doing it. 😛 )

Bruce Lee v Muhammad Ali?
Bruce Lee, the most fit Martial Artist every; and definitly one of the fastest. His hand speed reached speeds of 500ths of a second. He could perform pushups on his thumbs with 250 pounds on his back. His abs rose 3 inches when flexed. Arnold Swarzeneggar himself admited Bruce Lee inspired him. Also Bruce Lee has said himself he could beat anybody in the world. By breaking 300 pound punching bags with a side kick I wouldn't be surprised. His martial arts Jeet Kune Do has since become the most advance martial arts known to man.

Then there is Muhammad Ali,officialy the greatest boxer to have ever entered the arena. After getting the belt 3 times he has proven himself worthy of being called "The Greatest". His hand speed as unmatchable, his footwork overcame any opoonent he faced and he made boxing a influencial sport since his rise.

A fight between the 2 who would come out on top?I think Bruce Lee would win if he could avoid the punches. His kicks were simply to powerful.

Bruce Lee reached speeds of 500th of a second Ali only had 400th 😂....not much but it still is faster.

BUT the extra distance traversed and the extra weight behind it=
WAY more destructive whoopass when translated to movement.

Ali can still raise his arms in victory fashion though. Just takes him longer to get there these days.... 😉

For what/who exactly...? And how would he do that whilst being unconcious on the floor...?

And FYI Bruce Lee turned down fighting and even sparring with Ali, admitting that Ali would dominate. He wasn't a dumbass. He didn't want to get seriously maimed.

Anyone who said he could beat anyone in the world and then doesn't prove it is eventually gonna be proven to be/called a liar.

Ali actually did go out and prove it.

Three times.

After losing 3 years of his prime.

with a single wayward punch in sparring, bruce chipped off part of the jawbone of a well trained student. now imagine what that wud do to ali if he went all out. boxing is far from the most effective martial art or the most deadly. for people who dont agree, go watch some videos of ehsan shafiq on youtube vs boxers etc.

feck sake, Bruce was breaking 300lb training bags with his kicks, Ali wouldnt know how to defend himself against a swift kick from Bruce Lee, If Lee kicked Ali in the legs... think about it, he would at the very least fall down, probably even break it.

Do you know how hard Foreman hit in his prime, when the "Rumble in the jungle" went down? There's documentation of George knocking punching bags about like they were rag dolls. Yet Ali let George use him as a punching bag on the ropes until he was exhausted. I have a feeling Ali wouldn't get kicked and then that would be it.

Edit: Also of note, Ali was/is the only person to have ever knocked out Foreman and his cinderblock-like head. Do you think Lee has a head/body tougher than Foreman's?

Definitely no....I know it was rhetorical...but still...that dude could take some punches. Was Bruce Lee EVER knocked out?

not that I have heard of, Robtard makes a very good point though. I still think that Bruce Lee is the better all round fighter...who knows what would happen if Ali got a hit in to Lee, But I can't see Lee giving him the oppurtunity to do so.

bruce lee. all ali can do is box. bruce lee would do 8 arial flips and kick ali in the neck so hard it would detach his head.

If only it were that easy 😂

There isn't much to go on in regards to his fights, mostly all hearsay. He did suffer a serious spinal injury will lifting 135 (weight equal to his body weight).

Scarlet...

I'm not doubting Lee's abilities and he was known to be in superb, if not perfect physical shape, but Ali was 6'3" and around 215 and a highly skilled fighter, Lee would be hard pressed to even win 1 fight out of 10.

Exactly.

And Leo's thing about Bruce Lee chipping a jaw bone ...?
Its not that impressive and example really.

In fact last time I had to hit someone bare-knuckle there was way worse after just two short uppercutting hooks (I met him on his way in which helps).. the guy lost two teeth (admittedly, one was a crown) and he had a fractured jaw and cheekbone according to mutual former freinds.

I broke my right hand. But it was worth it in the trades. And I weighed around 10 and a half.

Also, now think of how much harder a guy or Ali's size hits. Way harder than Lee.

Maybe for all we know with his fight record......

But what we do know is that Ali fought much much bigger and harder hitting guys, had a actual massive fight record and he never was knocked out....
