So you know what I think? For the record, I don't think RJ would ever say anything terrible about me, I don't think he's the type, sure a zing, jab and insult here and there, but that's different.

However, I did misread RJ's post the first time around and took it for him disclosing the contents of your PM's...I do not like naming names, and for the most part, disclosing contents of PMs with names...they are PMs for a reason.
Fact: Ali once got his jaw busted in the opening couple of rounds in a Titanic clash with the fearsome Ken Norton (Who probably would have killed Bruce Lee, in the ring, himself).
Now whereas a normal boxer or even normal man would be out of there with no shame whatsoever, throw the man sucked it up and boxed 12 (maybe 15, I cant remember) rounds against a man who hit like a sladgehammer and with the precision of sniper's rifle - with that broken jaw.
Are there any proven, documented equivalent incidents that the Lee fans can bring in that show the durability under pressure and general man-points that that one incident alone brings to Ali's table...?
And also, who do the pro-Lees pick between Chuck Norris and Ali, in and out of the ropes...?
Damnit! I always miss the good stuff! ok ok! being that I do martial arts my self. The whole debate with lee getting ali with a leg sweep i kinda silly and unrealistic. How many times have you seen a person drop someone in a MMA fight using a sweep kick. it really isn't that effective and it leaves you open to attacks. There's alot of rumors and tall tales about bruce lee. Here's a link that help disprove alot of myths about bruce lee's abilities such as his punching speed.

I always was a bit skeptical of 7-per-second with anything real behind 'em. I was pretty fast myself and as a welterweight, you'd being going flat out to beat three walloping shots per second. And they'd have to be short, powerful shots.

Here's something I found interesting on another forum about Mike Tyson and Bruce lee. Not the same debate here obviously. Though I do find Ali better than Tyson.
In the 1970's there was talk that Bruce Lee was to have a fight with Mohammed Ali. The fight did not go ahead however. Bruce Lee admitted that because he was so much smaller than Ali that Ali would have just destroyed him with one punch.
Mike Tyson has fought a European kickboxing champion a few years ago, Julius Francis. Tyson won this fight in 20 seconds, his punches were so hard and so fast, it did not matter what the other guy did. Some scientists have done some punching power analyses on Tyson and that reported that being hit full force by Tyson is the same amount of impact as being hit by a car travelling at 40 mph. This would be hard for someone like Bruce Lee to withstand, even if he blocked the punch.
I don't know a about how martial arts helps in real fight situations against some street thugs although as a small guy I would say that it would be great it it did. I have watched some guy called Tank Abbot fight in the UFC. He seems to have no martial arts skills whatsoever. He just seems to be a big guy who constantly throws huge punches. I have seen some fights when he goes up against highly trained martial artists and he just smashes through those guys as if they were not there, it was quite scary to watch in fact.
I guess that Mike Tyson against Jean Claude van Damme would be a more even fight as there is less size difference between the two.
