🤨 really? that really wasn't my intention, any way when it comes down to endurance bruce has it..... it was the most important thing you believed. oh man Discovery Channel needs to make a special on this!

I'm a resident of NYC!
😄

Anywayz.......Bruce doesn't have as much endurance as Ali. Boxers are meant for endurance, thats why they could go 12 rounds. Endurance is as vital as strenght and speed.
🙄

agreed although in Ali's day it was 15 rounds

Even harsher 🙂

Read jeet kune do. His extensive knowledge in grapples will astound you. The cat studied black bear Black bear consists only of offensive grapples. You cannot teach black bear in the United ststes

I have 🙄

not impressed. Now you watch Bas Ruttens Big DVDs of Combat.

I think this thread is dead

Smiley, Freeky, Anomally and I have argued with all the same points. We all seem to share a similair knowledge base. I am no longer posting on this thread as it bores me. If you cannot see we are right thats fine your entitled to your own opinion.

🙂

Threads dead, baby.... Threads dead....

Bruce Lee joined tradition and common sense for the very first time in modern martial arts. He could have just accepted that he was a student of one of the last martial arts Masters, Yip Man, could have just been a representative of Wing Tsun kung fu in the US and just made money. But Bruce Lee had a restless spirit. Sooner or later he found out the main weakness of Wing Tsun: its attacks are not strong enough. Some people will just not go down with a few punches. Today we see in mixed martial arts events that some fighters can take several good blows in the head and still be able to grab you and take you down.
Bruce created a unique style of fighting which is very effective in the way he used it. Here are some strong points:
1.He used kicks to the head. If he did not use them (like some people claim) he would not train for them. Kicks to the head CAN be very effective, especially roundhouse kicks. I have seen hundreds of fights. I haven’t seen anyone take a good roundhouse kick to the head and not go down. Even a tough fighter like Don Frye could not survive against a good roundhouse kick thrown to him by Jerome Le Banner.
2. He was one of the first to use boxing training methods and protective equipment in sparring.

yet jeet kune do is still not a domanent mma style
3. He explained why a technique is effective before he taught it. Back then, in other martial arts, you either accepted tradition or you were out of the school.
4. He trained his punches and kicks against live targets (like focus gloves) or against the fearsome body bag. The noise of a snapping gi was not enough for him. He had to know that his attacks were effective.
5. He was the first martial arts master that stressed the importance of a cardiovascular workout. He was really tired of seeing big-bellied masters that would not last a single round against a boxer in a ring. For Bruce, the best kind of endurance and cardiovascular training was running.
6. Most martial arts make a common mistake in their training. They train their students against attacks that are used in a stiff and robot-like manner. No enemy ever attacks like that. And you can be sure that most attackers will not attack you with a reverse punch or using a traditional martial arts move. Bruce trained his students against boxing punches and tae kwon do kicks.
The list can go on forever. Bruce Lee contributed a martial arts.
So overall lee could take on just about any fighter in his time.... 😄 😛 💃

The point is that Bruce is more studied in the ways of combat than Ali..he ain't just gonna go up to Ali and try to trade punches/kicks/whateva with him...And don't give Bruce any prep time before this battle..Bruce is like batman..Ali would be screwed fo sho..lol....

he might have studied more martial arts. Not ways of combat.

yes...yes he did. You have to know Bruce's history to know his awarness of fighting, and philosophy. For those who say Bruce Lee would have less endurance than ali, I would find that to be bullcrap. Seeing how Bruce trained harder than Ali and more often.

Bruce's ideals of real fighting went out the door when he left China.Lee's endurance is questionable. He wasn't a fighter. What little we do have of lee realy prove nothing

See, i agree that from tangible proof, Ali wins, but from knowledge and conditioning, well it goes to Bruce. Bruce Lee's ideals on fighting did change when he left China for the fact that he cultivated his skill and knowledge. this is kind of fun facts but did you know Bruce was in a gang for ten years of his life? When he went out somewhere he would wear a chain around his waist for potential jumps.

I remember reading in the dictionary of martial arts he had been in a chinese street gang.I didn't know about the chain though.that's cool

bruce lee.

And how does this chain help him in a hand to hand fight with Ali

So what does have to do with anything?
😑

Watching fighters and martial artist training can be very deciving.
Ever watch fist of death? The movie made after lee's death?
Rov Van Clief was shown chopping things off people's throats etc.
Then little ol' royce gracie comes along and disposes of the "master" like he's nothing

bruce would win if he was alive but ali has the advantage of life. he is very sickly so i doubt he could dig up the coffin to whoop bruce's ass. in the end its a draw

Bruce Lee all the way. Ali sucks.

Like most people on this thread, you guys have no reasoning
