Whirysplat for sure -- much more of a ring to it. 😉 Me, I usually use the same handle for any forums I happen to post on ... many of which I then never post on again, having said what I wanted to say. 😉
Speaking of the UFC though, that reminds me of another myth the UFC dispelled: the classic "wrestlers are big, clumsy and slow" myth. Now I'm not just talking about old Dan "The Beast" Severn from back in the early days (although he was deceptively quick himself when he wanted to be) -- or even whoever's dominating now (I don't know who since I don't follow it anymore, but my money says it's a ground-and-pounder of some kind 😉 ).
There was this one dude ... and God I wish I could remember his name now ... but he was a freestyle wrestler, and he was fighting some karate guy, right? Well, almost as soon as the fight started, he just suddenly jetted in for a double-leg takedown ... and I swear to God, it was one of the fastest things I've EVER seen ANYONE do. It was freaking breathtaking. The karate fighter must've thought so too, 'cause he hadn't even BEGUN to react before he was already going down hard. And just like that, it was all but over.
Truly amazing.

The only strikes worth having are boxing unless its to joints otherwise grappling wins. Lee loses so bad🙂
I guess some people know nothing about Bruce Lee outside of the movies. The style Bruce would use for the camera's was merely for visual fancy. Bruce commented himself on how impractical kung-fu was for fighting. Bruce attained the workings of many martial arts. Some of these were Judo, wrestling, boxing, fencing ect... Though boxers have some of the most regimented training systems. Bruce still remains legendary when it comes to his conditioning. As far as endurance goes, well, I'm sure they would both be nearly equal. However, Bruce did do iron shirt trainig for fear years of his life, and punching those guys can sometimes be as effective as punching a wall. Bruce's training and understanding of Martial Arts, brought him to focusing on a an effective fighting method. Although Ali was reactive, Bruce was highly explosive, being able to strike several blows in a second.
Size does not automatically decide the outcome of a fight, especially not when the smaller of the two attains far more skill.
And no matter how much Iron Shirt training you do (With respect to the form) being repeatedly impacted with more energy than your bodies size is built to take is just that... Besides...How would a practitioner find the necessary time to center themselves-in the way they do before undertaking their tasks-in the middle of such a furious fight...? His organs'd be too busy taking a pounding to powerful for them to take, too...
True that size doesnt ALWAYS guarantee victory, but that size advantage paired with the skill that Ali had would remove this clash from that catagory IMO..
