Back in the rooms.
"Gallagher, those people just never seem to get out much. While they're in their rooms, I can't sneak around, even at night. If you really want me to get in there, I need them out. But let's focus on the drugs, The Synod are certainly suspicious, but they may or may not be involved in the aspidrol smuggling." he pauses, thinking.
(I just went over Ush's hints again)
"Maybe we can start checking into the shipping operation of this hospital. If the drugs are leaving from here, it shouldn't be too hard to find, really. I mean how many outgoing shipments can a hospital make. If they're not disguised as or hidden in official shipments, then there is still physical movement of goods we can watch for. Perhaps eventually, once we have a better idea of how they're transporting stuff, I can poke around and open some crates or something. I want to leave Varm alone for now. If he's involved, we'll find out along the way. What do you think?"
This is very true- the drugs must be leaving somehow.
Not that you know much about the storage of aspidrol, and so forth. But there are two main routes from which they could go out- the main starport, at which you arrived, connected to the hospital by monorail.
And meanwhile, this hopsital itself also has landing pads, for highly exclusive clients.
Both options present problems. At the main strarport, they would have to smuggle the stuff along the rail as well, which would involve having to deal with more people, more risk.
But then, running the ships directly out the hospital would be difficult as well. Those platforms are for the use of clients; running cargo ships out of there would not go unnoticed.
Tracing the route of the aspidrol is a good idea. But don't forget to consdier the issue from both ends.
(Both ends as in where it leaves and where it goes, or as in where it leaves the hospital, and where it comes from?
Also, had another thought about the possible outlet. I don't think most hospitals make 'shipments' per se, however many of them have things picked up or 'sent out'. I was thinking perhaps laundry or medical waste maybe. Andro will look up these possibilities to find out just what kinds of materials routinely leave the facilities.)
Well, you are looking at how the criminals get it out; you should also be thinking about how they acquire it in the first place.
Laundry actually gets dealt with here. Medical waste gets sent off for disposal and would involve a lot of complications to turn into a smuggling racket- still, not totally impossible. Spiridos itself exports vast amounts of medical equipment, including all sorts of drugs. Trouble is, that's all clean- the Order already investigated those on arrival. This is part of the problem; you know the drugs are coming out of here but no-one can see how.
He doesn't like you. That's not a front; it's very simple emotion.
(Obviously you are not the guy to get complex emotional results, of course. Still, not the mindset of a Priest of Ferradyne).
"Maybe once more," he says, thoughtfully. "As for playing well, I like to keep myself in shape. Balance is my creed; a balanced body is a healthy one, hence good fitness fulfils my spiritual obligations also. Too many neglect that side of things. Though not you, I see. Good day to you."
(I really hope Andro gets to fight this guy.)
Ando simply nods and turns away from Varm. He didn't think Varm was talking about Hockey when referring to a rematch. He walks up to the Pharmacy attendant, and making sure that Varm was out of the way asks a question.
(Scan the Pharmacy worker)
"Know that guy? Great athlete. Played hockey with him the other day. Can't imagine he's sick, I'll bet he was here for energy supplements or something" Andro plied the worker, keeping his voice casual.
