"Mr. Twain," says Varm. "You are looking well."
"Never better! Why, were you talking about me? What was that about my body? I'm not denying my shape has improved during my stay here, but that's no reason for you guys to be jealous!"
"I think," says Doctor Mirani, "that it might be a good idea if everyone returned to their rooms at this point. And I think that I should speak to the Klinge-Faust delegation."
"I don't think there is any need to indulge any of your silly fantasies," says Kathya. "Doctor Mirani, I MUST protest..."
"It's ok, Kathya, there is no harm done," interjects the Abbot., Both Varm and Kathya look at him sharply and you don't need the Force to know they are both annoyed. "I'm not entirely sure exactly what has caused them to say such things, but I don't think they are the malicious types."
"That's very magnanimous of you, your Grace," says Mirani, "but as Director of this Facility, I feel I should at least make a few things clear."
"Of course, of course," says the Abbot, "you must do as you feel fit, but please do not judge them too harshly."
The Abbot staggers slightly to one side again, and reaches out a hand to steady himself. It's the other hand from last time- and this one looks even worse. The fingers are all there this time, but there is nothing you recognise as flesh at all. The hand is virtually skeletal, with only a few rotting tendons connecting the bones, and green fungal growths holding it together.
Varm produces a small black blindfold.
"We should get you to your room, your Grace. I think the bright lights of the corridor will be too much for you right now."
"Yes yes, of course..." says the Abbot. Before long, he is heading back up the stairs, helped by Varm and Kathya, and you hear the strain of an angry comment from one of them, and a comment back from the Abbot about forgiveness.
Mirani wants to see you in your rooms, as he said.
Well, the Doc doesn't have a great deal to say other than chewing you out for causing so much trouble with their most distinguished guests, and that good credit or not, you'll be expelled from the facility if you carry on like that, blah blah blah.
Wlel, that's that bit done. You can think about what just happened (and see if you can unravel what the freaking hell is going on), but Andro still has a task lined up. Gallagher I am less sure about right now.
When the Doctor leaves, Andro sits down with Zaland and Gallagher.
"What the Hell is going on here? I know what a dead body looks like, I've made enough of them myself." he starts. "How in the Galaxy could Deel have shown up like that, and if he's alive, just who or what was in that drawer? I couldn't have imagined it, you don't get gassed and shot at for imagining things. Not on a planet this close to the Core anyhow." he sits back and thinks for a bit. "Well, the Abbot is still in danger, and I've still got to look for the aspidrol. I'm still going hunting for that tonight. Whatever you do don't go anywhere outside this room without Zaland. Varm is one of the more dangerous men I've ever met. It wouldn't be a problem with a lightsaber, but..." he gestures to his saberless hip. "What are you going to do?"
