Marcus has followed the corridor down to the next melee- an assortment of dead bodies, some guards, more Cultists.

-

Sareena's blade flashed as she hacked down another Cultist.

"We'll have to draw up a new cordon around them!" she yelled.

"What about the upper living areas?" called back a guard. Sareena closed her eyes for a moment, and spoke sadly.

"It's too late for them," she said. "Get as many men as you can. Get half to set up the new cordon, I'll lead the other half. We need to hold their advance long enough to hem them in again or we;'re finished!"

She carried on down the corrdior.

-

Dead cultists keep carrying on down the corrdior, Marus.

And yes, Xeth, this path does eventually lead here. But there is a trail of destruction FROM here as well.

Xeth, standing up from his crouched position besides the bisected, cauterized bodies, looks to the bulkhead. Any indications that it was remove by lightsaber?

After checking that, he follows the path of destruction leading away from the destroyed bulkhead.

Actually, now you look at it... yes. Forget a laser lance, a sabre could have done this. It's just not normally a situation you consider.

You have a bad feeling about this, Xeth. But... something's not right.

Of course something is not right! Some nutter hacked through the bulkhead with a lightsaber and hacked up the guards!

Xeth will follow the path of this unknown lightsaber-wielder.

The path of destruction in that direction consists of another man hacked in half, and more people shot and shot and shot to pieces.

But... the men sliced in half where behind a barricade, Xeth. Whoever did that would have left themselves spectacularly vulnerable to wonder up to it and then hack each guy in half like that. Maybe they were left until last, but...

No sign of deflected blasts, THAT'S what is bothering you. In fact, you can see very little evidence of returned fire at all.

~Sounds like it could have been Sareena, or someone else hidden on the ship.~

Perhaps the attacker, however it was, was too fast for them to even think of firing back. The Force can do that sort of thing to the mind, can it not? Anyone perhaps thrown about, like with a Combat Push?

No, no sign of that at all.

And no matter how fast he was, he had to cut through the bulkhead. You can't think of anyone who could do THAT and not actually be fired at.

And now you look... there is a burn mark a little way behind the four sliced guards, in the floor. A burnt gash, in a line.

~Well, could it have been somebody the Guards would have recognized, thus making them hesitant to shoot?~

Xeth will investigate said line, bending down next to it.

Exactly as it seems. A burn mark in the floor, scored quite deep.

Too deep to have been a lightsaber? Why the hell would someone do that with a lightsaber while in combat anyway?

You could do it with a lightsabre, for sure! But yes, just not sure why you would waste your time cutting through a floor with one.

maybe the someone dropped his sabre?

It looks more like a slash mark. Very straight, though.

Well, not necessarily a lightsaber, perhaps another form of laser, cutting machinery.

Could Xeth do a search on current Techno Union models that would use such a thing?

(Pah, it's probably what I think it is...)

Techno-Union cutting droids? Not an area you are an expert on!

Normal lasers don't make these sort of burns. Laser-lances do but they are slow. Killing a man with a laser lance is something you would have to get him to stand still for.

Hmm...

Xeth would like to make an Observation roll to see if there is anything specific about this burn that would define it from a laser-lance or lightsaber. Like the shape of the burn, or something...

Also, any more of these around? It looks like those bisected guards were struggling, right?

Unfortunately, Xeth, your lousy Perception score is counting against you; you aren't the man for this.

Marcus will go down the corridor
