In return for battle droids, the Cult would pick up the attacks against Alzarius at the insistance of the Techno Union. If Xeth is correct, it is likely that the Techno Union wishes for the Cult to do this so that Alzarius will give in and buy the droids for their own protection.

The Alzarians can't. They would never be able to afford it and the shipment has vanished anyway. The whole offer was just an excuse by the Union to get the shipments into the secotr before they vanished.

Oh, right...

Then I am at a loss. The Cult just has a thing for attacking Alzarius, as far as I can see.

The Cult ONLY ever attacks for personal gain. It has no interest in simple intimidation.

The Union sure as hell doesn't need one bunch of nutty cyber-cultists to get technical parts. They can directly create all the ones they will ever need.

Don't get moved away from your original conclusion of them stealing to equip the army. That fits, just that something is wrong. It doesn't make sense on paper.

You have constructed all that has happened based on evidence, but as I said ages ago, if that doesn't add up properly, something is wrong with it. So identify the weakest point of evidence.
