USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE III (RENEGADES)- The Hunters Hunted

Well, let's assume that the situation as you know it gives you nothing.

Yet there IS something to find. Therefore, there must be something wrong with the situation as you know it.

What is the least solid part of the evidence you have? For example, you know there are dead bodies in there- you can see them! What might be less certain than that?

Eh.. we are just going in circles here, and it's giving me a headache.

And everything is less certain then that, we havn't figured out anything solid yet. Which is why we need to get off this bloody planet and actually go out and find the answers we need, this ship can only tell us so much. It was only a battle field, not an evil conferance room. Aside from a lot of fancey weapons and carbon scoring, there isn't much in the way of answers on the grand scale, but everyone seems to want to solve this stuff like.. RIGHT NOW. And we just can't do that.

Actually, as Marcus seems to be continually delayed, do Vlad and Arken want to talk attack tactics with the Alzarians? They are all ready to launch the strike on Charaeus once you have talked the options over.

Which just leaves the Renegades to sort themselves out.

Indeed, Fire tells me that due to re-takes he will be away for a bit.

In which case, the Alzarians have a proposal for Vlad and Arken, if they wish to hear it?

How they died or who killed them.

how they died brings us back to that super weapon mer bob.

Who killed them brings us to the pirates

You don't know who killed them, this is true, but knowing that would not help. You have to teace this via the Cult.

This whole thing is making me numb, I havn't checked this site in four days and there have only been two posts I havn't seen yet. This is going far too slow, for such a point and click operation. So, against my better judgement I am going to GET ON WITH THIS, since all anyone seems to be doing is going in circles around something they can't see, hear, feel or touch.

Arken grumbled almost angrily to himself as he lazily strode up to the waiting Captain, who was patiently waiting for them to finish their evaluation of the ship. He paused for a momment, glancing to the others before turning his attention back to her. "Hm.. I think everything that was worth finding has been found, and it's time to advance our role in all of this.. Have you secured transport for us to reach this Cultists planet? Also.." he paused once more, pondering to himself before continueing. "Do you have any ideas of the numbers we could expect when we reach this planet, or what kind of defences we might encounter?"

The Captain will tell you that the forces of the Techno-Pirates are considerable.

"They have a Warrior Caste inside the cult that is at least several hundred thousand strong," she explains, "though fortunately the Cult lacks the resources for armoured warfare, so it is all foot strength... but they are ferocious and pitiless fighters. Regardless, a standard invasion of Charaeus is impossible. We don't have the logistics to supply a force large enough to take the planet, to transport it to the planet, to support it so it can make a successful landing, and even if we could win the ensuing war, we wouldn't have the capacity fo occupy the planet for any length of time.

"However, we have an alternative proposition. An elite forces raid on the headquarters of the Cult on Charaeus. If we destroy their headquarters- capturing or killing their leaders in the process- it will be a heavy blow to the Cult, which is after all a religion and revers in its high priests, without which they are lost.

"Furthermore, it would be a statement to the Cult that they cannot just do what they like. There WILL be consequences.

But this is where we were hoping that you would come in. You can help us in two ways. First, the raid will be exceptionally dangerous; it is far more likely to succeed with Jedi at the lead. Secondly, when the Cult sees that it is not just us, but JEDI that have come to strike back at them... well, then they must know that they can never do anything like this again.

"What do you think, Master Jedi?"

"Hm.. intresting plan indeed. How do you intend to keep get this force into their command center to begin with? Infact, how are you going to make sure they are not simply trapped there once they have landed? After all.. taking the head off the beast sounds good in theory, but theories don't always pan out in the end."

"We have a good fix on where their central temple is; we can land the party nearby, away from their defences, and make our way through the jungle on foot.

As for not getting trapped... that is going to come down to not losing the fight."

"I see. But won't getting into their temple, and stealing one of their leaders, would be a large alarm for all their forces? Can we make it out of there once we captured the priest?" asked Vlad camly.

"We can make an extraction, if the battle goes well enough. Or, you could use the situation to force some sort of settlement."

"Well, either way it seems, our part of the mission will be over.." Arken cracked an akward smile, indeed. "Well, let's start making preperations to leave for this planet. When will your forces be ready, Captain?"

"If you approve of the plan, we can leave inside the hour," says Kiro.

"I currently have no problem with the plan." said Vlad.

Very well! Then the Jedi are preparing to go. The assault team coming with you, led by Kiro, is a hundred strong.

I think I can see a lightsabre burning Techno-Pirates... 😈

It certainly would.

Is there absolutely anything else the Jedi want to do before they leave?

Would the renegades be coming with us, or they would stay and further investigate?

No, they still have to trace the Union link, though it seems Xeth is away right now.
