Afraid so, Vlad!
And nope, Xeth. You are only too well aware that the Union keeps much of their work confidential. Many of their site licenses are tied up inside endless Republican legalese; they trake advantage of the differing jurisdiction and planning laws of a thousand or more different planets.
And on the face of it- is it actually illegal to build a base on an uninhabited world? You don't think so, but you are rather more certain that you could be done over for trashing it if you lacked proof of any justification.
Ok, yes, that's better.
Remember your original instructions from Talooran- either expose the operation- that's the bingo result, if you prove collaboration- or failing that, find a way to shut it down.
But the legal area you work in is extremely fuzzy (else it would be Jedi work) and you can't bully the Union as a whole; they are bigger than you. Get it wrong and you have no case, act like criminals and you will be the ones being locked up.
Ok, Vorn Greyhand, lacking a background, I don't know what exactly has caused your 'drifting away' from the Jedi Order. Nonetheless, you have done no work for them for some while. Instead, you have more recently hitched up with this group of independant Jedi, formed by Xeth (but probably now nominally led by the Master Vera). This group of various disaffected Jedi do 'private' justice work- in the form of a Private Investigator company that tries to reach where the Jedi cannot- fee paying to keep the outfit going, but working for free for cases of heavy injustice. Your main targets- the evil corporate interests of the Galaxy, of whom Xeth has shown you enough of what he knows of their workings for you to be certain that they are the largest threat to Galactic Justice that you know of.
Xeth has been trying to bust the Techno Union in particular for a while now, having been caught at the unpleasant end of some of their Conspiracies before. But that's normally been a hopeless enterprise.
However, just recently he thinks he has a lead that is red hot to catch them out this time- and possibly to bring huge legal proceedings against them, or at least shut down one of their major operations. He has summoned the entire group together to get this done. You were working on the far side of the Galaxy, and it has taken you this long to get to the Rim world Alzarius, where you have now met Xeth and the others.
Xeth can fill you in from here.
(Vlad, use Defend, it's far cheaper! And remember that you have Evade! Use your powers!)
I assume we meet up with Vorn on planet, just as Xeth is preparing to enter his ship.
"Welcome, Vorn," Xeth says. "We've just hit the jackpot, we're off to Rekiarius. I take it you wish to come with us?"
(Summary for you, Vorn: Xeth was tipped off by his friend and Taloraanian detective/policeman Gralus Turandi that the Techno Union had had a shipment mysteriously disappear, which usually means they've found a way to get it to someone. Xeth takes his paychecks mainly from the big Taloraan-assigned cases, and so heads to Alzarius, near where the shipment vanished, and also where a group known as the Techno Pirates (the Cult of Charaeus) have stepped up their vicious attacks, but were stealing things like farming tractors and useful gumf. Xeth went to the facility where they loaded the most recent attacked ship with his group and infiltrated a security room, finding that the tractor parts were actually military-grade parts for hovering crafts like tanks and STAPs, and then ended up exposing a smuggling operation, which the Techno Union had been using...of course, no arrests to make against the Techno Union there, but we managed to get information enough that we pinpointed Rekiarius as being the separate base that the Cultists were attacking from, seeing as they could not have gotten close enough if they attacked from their homeworld of Charaeus, and we're about to head there to see if it is a) a Techno Union base collaborating with the Cult or b) a Cult base that we need to extinguish)
Don't have enough Force for it, Vlad. Keep an eye on your Force points, most of the damage you took was from running out of enough points to defend yourself. Just do Defend now that you have cut down half of them.
And Ush, I think we are ready for our journey to Rekiarius, unless you wanted to wait for Vorn get to caught up.
