"I advise that you should," Xeth says. "We can attempt ambush, if this thing attacks."

Xeth brings his blaster to bear, in case attacked.

ok my bad, my RPG started earlier than expected.

What about this:

A) we use the guys with heavy gear to cover the other people.
B) we take out the patrolling cultists/battle droids
C) Vlad and I lead a group of about a 100 soldiers to the ziggurat under the covering fire of the heavy gear guys.
D) Vlad and I use speed powers to get to the ziggurat before the soldiers do for recon.
E) the heavy gear guys do a bunny hop move under the cover of the 100 soldiers at the ziggurat.

F) we'll see from there

what do you think Vlad?

Vera-Kin will hide in an adjacent cave, in that case, keeping her senses open.

That sounds fair to me, Marcus.

-

Revealing itself slowly, but moving in short, staccato steps, is what can only be described as a giant bliue scorpion, Xeth.

Hiding in these translucent caves is near impossible! It sees you immediately, and raises its sting.

Kiu takes out his lightsaber and ignites it." Finally, something to do on this planet".

"Indeed."

Xeth will raise his blaster and prepare to fight.

Combat time, I presume?

Wait!

Is there a way that Vera-Kin could lull this thing into leaving us alone? Or just giving us an edge in attacking it? Its possible that we may fight later on this planet, and should avoid this thing.

Persuade or Entrancement were the only ones I can think of.

Ahh, the wisdom of the Master...

Yes, indeed you can try that. It's called Lulling, and it is a possible technique to use against Monsters.

Vera-Kin will indeed try Lulling this creature.

What power is Lulling a dirivative of? One of the two I named?

Oh, you have what you need.

Vera is currently standing in front of the Queen Ice Scorpion (which might have been a nice fight, but not very Jedi-like to just total it), and is trying to use her influence to calm its animal instincts.

This creature is in distress, Vera.

Impressive. Can Gallagher do that some time? 😄

Vera-Kin will use her lulling abilities to try to calm the Scorpion, and see if she can find out what she is distressed about.

"Calm yourself..." she says, quietly.

(You'd probably do this easier than I could, Andy)

"Keep your weapons raised," Xeth cautions to Kiu, Vorn, and Densk, should Master Vera-Kin fail her attempt at taming the beast.

Indeed, you surely can, Gallagher.

The scorpion makes aggravated clicking noises, as its instincts conflict.

It's home has been destroyed, Vera. And its young, The changes wrought to this glacier have destroyed the ecosystem.

'What kind of changes?' Vera-Kin asks, prying deeper into the Scorpion's mind, feeling its loss. She continues to attempt her soothing affects. 'Where?'

You can't get those sort of answers- it doesn't understand the process.

Oh well. We can discover those on our own, I'm sure.

Vera-Kin tries to make the Queen Ice Scorpion understand that we mean it no harm, and perhaps that we intend to avenge her lost children.

It's difficult to communicate. But you think you have it pacified for now.

So- all things considered, what's going on here?

Vera-Kin relaxes, with a wry grin to the others. "Distressed, it was, about changes made to the ecosystem. That says one thing to me, what of you, hmm? I have pacified this creature. Away put your weapons...for now."

Vera-Kin will begin moving towards the tunnel that the Queen Ice Scorpion emerged from, common sense saying that it will take them to where the Queen's former nest had been.

Err, it REALLY doesn't want that. You'd have to kill it.
