Europe is hardly the outskirts of civilisation, like this is. And piracy a is a big problem out here. That story could work- that is what you have your Lying skill for.
People trying to get passports to escape Germany in the 30s and 40s used to pretend that they had dropped their papers in a river- that was the means the underground used because it was believable and there was no evidence to show.
There are always cracks in a system, and out here the system isn't too precise.
On the other hand you DO have the Mind Trick which saves a lot of hassle. But it is not as if the game was written so that this bit was impossible if you didn't have Persuade!
Okidokey, try to get to me a good idea of who is landing in what ship and with what means to bypass the equivalent of customs by... say... end of the weekend? Your various attempts to think about the problems are welcome, but you don't want to reach the Jedi levels of prevarication to the point of inaction.
I think, for purposes of Mind Trickery (in case we need to use it), we have Takuan, Rand, and Gallador all on seperate ships. I know that Takuan is on Galder's ship, Rianna is on Tanic's, and the new guys are on Xavier's. So Rand, Gallador, you guys decide which of you wants to be on Tanic's ship and who wants to be on Xavier's.
*goes to check on who's a good liar*
Well, the split I came up with is good for both Mind Tricks and lying, so once Gallador and Rand decide which of them will go on Tanic and Xavier's ships, we have that bit taken care of.
(btw, no one is allowed to complain if they don't like my plans since no one else is coming up with anything feasible.)
Your character is very social indeed, Gallador- that is half his point. And indeed, you are an amazing liar. You can say anything at all with a straight face, so as long as you tell something faintly credible, even the best interrogator won't sense a lie in your tone, expression or mood; someone would have to know different to catch you out in one.
Half his point? I assume that the second point is the fact that he is greatly in tune with Darkside( no one else has that many Dark Powers). This is why I roleplay him as a very twisted person, even a bit of hypocrite( he wouldn`t fully admit what he has become, even to himself, it is all for greater good).
Everyone can make pretty much whatever they want from a template, so long as they bear in mind what that template can and cannot do.
Meanwhile, you guys do definitely have the lying knack hammered down so do feel free to try that for customs, but by the same token, the Mind Trick does solve a lot of that with a lot less hassle!
