Didn't say I could, didn't say I needed to. Implied you were wrong to think it was lucky. You guys are so basic sometimes!
The Bureau officials- sour-faced men wearing smart grey outfits, though not quite a proper Agent uniform- arrive about an hour later. Each carrying a large bundle of forms and other such gumf, they come to meet you inside seperate interview rooms inside the Immigration area of the starport.
Each one takes an inordinately long time to remove their stuff from their cases, to remove and check writing implements, and to set out their recording equipment, remaining silent all the time. There are two Dug militia guards just outside of each room.
After introducing themselves, they start off with the very basics. They want your names, and your purpose of travelling here, and why you have not papers. I need answers from each of you.
Takuan sits patiently as the guy unfolds, thinking that some his coleagues probably didn't do as well
"my name is xmarksthespot (to the GMs choice) and we are here for supplies. we are merchants, and our headquarters were attacked by vicious pirates. we were lucky to survive...but unfortunately our papers were lost in the purge. we came to this distant bastion of civilisation for some basic supplies, as you can see"
says Takuan with a concerned attitude.
"I am Allatar Utummo( a name suitable for Elessar race, Gallador shared it with others, I hope you get the reference to certain author) from the world of Elleria. Me and wife, Sakhira( Gallador trembles when he speaks the name and there are tears in his eyes) were working in small mining base in( the place we came up with), we were happy, until one day.... please excuse my behaviour, recent events had an effect on me. Then... they came, out of nowhere, me and those that survived were working in asteroid field, this is why we escaped! They were pirates I believe, I saw a symbol on one of the ships, scarlet viper, I heard there is a clan with such name. We escaped to hypersace, but those left in base were not so lucky, Sakhira was among them- now she is death, or worse, I heard what those pirate scum can do to women- and she was so beautiful, her hair like moonlight, I left her, I wanted to go back for her, but others stopped me.... and I have lost her, maybe forever! -Gallador starts to sob, overun by his sorrow and pain( as I wrote in the description of this race, Elessar are emotional beings, so this behaviour fits the stereotype. And this story I shared with others, Gallador could even act it before them for practice during the travel, he is proud of his talents in this area.)

gallador...you shouldn't have either. read what i wrote 😬
and you shouldn't give the name of the pirates that are after us..else if they track them, they'll follow them to epireus
Hah! See? All this IM story stuff is for nonsense. The person who said that would make things ok failed to even read what had been posted in the thread. No way are you guys going to get a straight story like that.
Takuan, you said to tell the name of the place that the Savoir-Faire people had worked out. That place was an asteroid mining facility. 'They' didn't say anything- you yourself just told your interviewer that.

Takuan-
"So in fact some of you are Merchants and some of you are Miners? Please do tell me which of your group is which."
-
Gallador-
"I need two things from you at this point," he says. "First of all, how you escaped, and why you could not have your papers, and secondly, what your business on Newhaven is."
"My name is Roan Lower," Tanic tells them, "We were on the mining place name station when some pirates hit us with a raid. It was crazy, they took what they wanted but they also smashed up the equipment. We had to flee, to save ourselves," he pauses, "Maybe not such an honourable thing to do, but our ships are not equipped to fight off pirate raiders.
"Since Newhaven is the only remotely civilised place out here on the fringe, we came here. We need to get our facilities back up and running - and to do that we need to purchase the correct parts."
