so do that....your characters are grown men, take the initiative into doing something constructive, people. we need those parts...well, actually we need the XP...but it makes no difference.
just don't get into trouble 😛
well..aside getting spare parts, there isn't much to be done.
until we'll need you to randevous and use our small army effect on getting that shield..after we know where it is.
Takuan frowns
"you will understand, ofcourse, if we have certain...doubts about whether or not we are being cheated, considering our ..level of..business. so showing us the piece will solve our problem...and you feel we are a business opportunity that is not to be missed *persuade* (to have their interest boosted)
and if you do not have it yet...that means you must steal it...and all the more we would want to make sure it is in good quality when delivered"
"Look, don't get me wrong, we want to do business with you," he says, again falling prey to Takuan's amazing power in this department, but even so, it can only get him so far. "But we work with a lot of people and they don't do business without money up front. And we don't steal; we put you in touch with the people to get the merchandise from. Think of us as a way of cutting out the bureaucracy.
What is it you are after, anyway?"

"Yes, I am sure we can make a reasonable deal with him, our boss has his ways." Gallador smiles mysteriously.
(Takuan, when they ask about the boss, give them the impression is is someone big, but we won't reveal more to such lowly thugs).
As more of a man of the Universe, Gallador, you know Takuan's problem here (basically related to his -1 to social rolls as a Marauder) is that he approaches all negotiations from a position of powerplay.
Which is fine... if you HAVE such power, which in this case is money, and you don't. You can#t even threaten them, because that requires weapon, which you don't have except for sabres, and... well, you know where it goes from there.
You think you would have done better to accept that drink and talk business later. Having fronted yourselves as straight-to-the-point wealthy people it's a mite more tricky now. Still, if you can put them at ease... all you need is a LOOK at the damn thing!
"Your boss being?"
