USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE III (DARK SIDE)- The Way Back

Started by Dexx170 pages

don't they always? 😛

granted..but we must see what we're dealing with first...

It's not a huge and sprawling episode, no. Mind you, you guys seem to be getting things together a bit better now, after some more hard lessons.

Ushgarak (to the Darkies): so your plan must cover contingencies...
All other Jedi (and anyone else who reads this thread):
😆 😂 😆 😂 😆 😂 😆

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Seriously, good luck.

You're gonna need it!

We'll need several contingencies just to cover Galder going insane. 😖

tie him up 😖hifty:
and someone silence that intruder 😛

That is a very relevant point. Bear in mind Galder now has this habit of 'killing time' close to literally if left to wait.

well..we also need to think long term on that matter.....there are only to ways of dealing with his problem...either lock him in a room with some innocent creatures that he can slaughter as we keep sending more in to last him for about half an hour....OR....seek professional council? 😛

I think the only professional Council ready to handle that problem is the Jedi one...

There is reason for Galder's degredation.

Two words.

No.

Leader.

😛

Close...

Since we had this convo...

Galder has no purpose; with Kuylen his purpose was to become a Sith; with Rand his purpose was to kill Rand.

Heh, well, not QUITE that nasty, though that gave you somethiong to focus on.

It is indeed that Galder has no cause. All the time with Kuylen he had a cause, he then loathed the period after that campaign. Then in the last storyline he thought he had a purpose again, only for it to be most cruelly... well, 'denied' doesn't do it justice- 'totally non-existored in favour of someone else's purpose' more like.

Now he has no purpose again and his psyche is disintegrating. It is the inevitable path of the Dark Side warrior- with nothing to turn their energies on, they eventually destroy themselves. Remember the lesson of Chion, once he thought Kuylen's cause was lost.

One assumes a leader normally brings a cause, and hence most Dark Side warriors (taking 'most' to mean 'in the time of the Sith'😉 took service under someone who could give them one. But just having a leader on its own isn't enough if the cause isn't there too. And so potentially, you could have cause and no leader- but at this point you are not even close.

If the Bureau were not stopping him from doing so, Galder would leave you to search the Republic for the Archive, and I guess a lot of you might go with him.

That leads me to some disturbing thoughts of Galder's future.

If he doesn't get a purpose, is it possible that he might just set out for the hidden Archive, whether he thinks it suicidal or not? It would be totally in Galder's character to think he can take on the Bureau and find Kuylen's 'lost treasures' from the Archives of Avalar.

Yes- eventually Galder will kill himself in some way and that is one very plausible way.

Now imagine yourself in front of the Vengeance device- and a sudden whim might take you, just as it did Chion.

"Sod it, it's all pointless anyway. Let's just kill everyone."

As long as Galder doesn't develope pulsating blue veins...

That's a scary thought. Galder wants to survive, but not if he has no point. 🥷

Think everyone would like a cause too...
Maybe we should all sit in Lack of Cause Anonymous group - I can just imagine Galder;

"Um, hi... Yeah, I'm Galder... I, um, like to kill things..."
And some cheery guy standing up to say, "Hello Galder. It's taken a lot of courage for you to say that, and I just thought you'd like to know that we're all -" snap-hiss "What? What are you doing? We're here to hellll-" thunk [sounds of screaming]

Yes indeed, on a general level, all of you would like some overall purpose.

But only Galder is actually going to suffer psychosis from it. The entire emotional make-up of his brain, the thing that makes him a Dark Sider, simply cannot cope with your situation. Patience is not in his mindset. People like Takuan can see the nebefit of patience, and can navigate the future and feel the call of the Force leading them to destiny. Galder cannot do any of that; he cannot and will not cope.

In theiry the same could happen to Rianna, though a. Jedi training has some benefit and b. Rianna has never lost a purpose as Galder has, so the process is far in the future for her.

And the events of the last storyline hit Galder the hardest.

What about Xavier? I assume the same story as Rianna.

Well, that's a drag for Galder. Finding a shield generator is beneath him, I take it.

Yup.

And what does that get you? Back to where you where you were last week. That's not a cause, it's like having to eat every day.

Would things have improved if Rand was leader again? Galder seemed to get by with an immense hatred for Rand.
