Although I'd say that calling someone a sock, is somewhat of a derogatory remark... OK ladies put your handbags down and get back on topic-Wolverine versus The Thing! My feeling is the Thing can take it at least 5/10, when PIS isn't in effect. By that, i mean if the writer of the story realises that Wolverine is not invulnerable and able to move at light speed- but has relatively normal durability and can be hurt like and ordinary human but has an incredible healing factor with greater than human speed and agility. Against a power house like the Thing, he is beatable. I'm no Thing fanboy and i concede that with his greater speed and agility, plus the adamantium claws, Wolverine can take some wins. If anyone has any problem with my opinions i'm more than happy to explain them.
Ben should be able to take out Logan if he plays smart. Logan's healing factor lets him soak damage but what's to stop Ben from scrambling his brains inside that metal skull of his instead of just hitting him in the back or tossing him around which would just be soaked up by the healing factor. That or Ben could just effectively hit or toss him out of town or wherever they are fighting.

So let see how this works Ben or any other legit CL100 fighter starts to bash in Wolverines head, and after what should be one of the soon to be many direct hits his brain has turned to mush but before the 2nd blow arrives Wolverines brain has reconstructed it's self and is back to normal without any known issues that would restrict Wolverine from continuing his attacks... Did I miss anything? And is that description accurate?
If it is you now know why Wolverine gets the crap he does and why all Wolverine battlethimbles are looked like as they are because it's always going to be... In a fight o the death it will be Wolverine>Galactus, Wolverine>THANOS, Wolverine>Abraxis, Wolverine>GOD which is where the extreme humor lies.
And FTR Wolverine isn't exactly the same character he was in HULK #180. So if your going to go with the "override the character's history of 33 years crap, it wont work. No character in the comics history (outside of Superman maybe) has been changed from writer to writer in reference to his abilities and his "powers" than Wolverine. Example. Writer X 😖hifty: gets paired with a rockstar new peciler and inker and is able to put together some thought and storyline that is a good read and the kids enjoy it. And within this story arc for this trio the writer allows the character to do something that is so far away from what the character capable of doing from the last issue and the next issue the character is given another new ability and a couple issues down the way they get another new ability and now 10-15 issues later all of this is now cannon. Now try to think of this scenario in a little bigger window, say...33 years and maybe a 100 different writers and the next one trying to out do the last one and the only way to do that is to continue to give this character more and more powers week after week after month after month after year after year. And in the end we have Wolverine. Whatever the writer wants to make him do for a couple books is now turned into the standard for the character. On to the next writer and the next writer and so on all doing the same thing.
It may surprise you to hear that I actually like Wolverine as a character (attitude, bravado, one lines, the back stories are alot of the times interesting and he can be a good read) but after 20+ years of my reading him with the above mentioned activities going on. He IMO has been made into the joke of the character that he is now.
