Comic Book Questions

So, could anyone tell me a little about Landau, Luckman and Lake?

-Question-

How long can Superman sundip, under his own power?

ie. if Supes flew into the sun right now, how long could he stay there before he suffered long term effects, [if he even would]?

And no,

The 15,000 year dip from DC-1M should not be used to gauge Superman's capacity to sundip. 🙂

After careful analysis, i would say 56.78 years.

Inconclusive. We haven't exactly seen from him a set limitation to his absorption capabilities.

has anyone read the JLA/Avengers crossover, issue four... the line in which Iron Man is rigging a dimensional transporter that flash and mjolner are hooked up to in order to attack Krona?

the line he says as he's finishing it

"By rights it makes no sense- converting speed to a vibrational wave that shifts the temporo-dimensional-locus.... it wouldn't work back home..."

for some reason, that just makes me laugh every time.

yea, sorry, not really a question. just kinda wanted to share that.

I have always felt that this "sundipped" Superman stuff is a bunch of bull. I mean it should not matter how long he stays in the sun, he should only be able to absorb a limited amount of energy. I mean a battery can only be charged so much. It can not absorb indefinintely. The same thing should apply to Superman, his body should only absorb so much until all of his cells are "full". He can not absorb more energy if he is full.

I would say that you're right, and that there shouldn't be anyway for superman to absorb past a certain point.

but then again this is comic books and logic... isn't always the best tool when dealing with that.

but otherwise, yea, that makes perfect sense.

Speaking of sundipping, can someone please tell me which issue(s) of OWAW, Superman sundips in?

-Thanks. 🙂

Thats like suggesting one can fill up a solar pannel, which is actually impossible. Supermans cells obviously work like photovoltaic solar pannles, i.e. he absorbs the suns radiation and transforms it into electricity.

Such as this site predicts.

http://www.howstuffworks.com/kryptonite1.htm

There should be no real limit to how much he can absorb, especially when he can store it within his Bio electrical auara. Its also been stated by Emil Hamilton, in both Unconventional Warfare, and Ruin Revealed that Superman actually sucks in radiation from the sun, although its unknown how this process occurs.

Nice response.
But i wonder how long would it take him to be at "full" power?

Hey guys, shuld I buy Anihilation Book 1? The one at my book store is wrapped in plastic so I didn't get to thumb through it but it looks cool, It's like $30 is it worth it? Or shuld I just buy Starscream from the Transformers movie.

I can pm the scans to you instead.

If you really want to buy it, I'd say it's worth the money.

Stating something like this, and then being okay with someone shooting laser beams out of his eyes or moving a planet is a double standard.

Comic book science is loony. It goes beyond the realms of possibility or logic. If a writer stated he can absorb an infinite amount of solar radiation, it definitely wouldn't surprise me.

Surfer's Board

Every bio on the Surfer says his board is covered with the same silvery glaze as he is, but that it is made of an unknown substance.

Any theories out there on what the board is actually made of?
