Comic Book Questions

There's already a Pre - Crisis Superman respect thread (well it's for PC Kryptonians in general, but it's still good).

I really need to get my hands on some Pre - Crisis comics to find more of those crazy feats

How about a pre crisis capability thread, instead? Featuring the highest highs and the lowest lows - for humor purposes, 😛.

Lowest low like Captain Marvel being beaten and tied up by a talking carrot and lettuce combo?

I was thinking Silver Age Gorillas, but Lettuce and Carrot definitely has that beat.

Does what just happened to Jaspers make him extremely overrated on the forums (like I've always thought anyway, but it was pretty funny seeing him get punked)?

Heh.

What just happened to Jaspers?

Is The Concept Forever Claimed?

I'm writing a short story about a person who is asked by a godtech artifact to help save the universe. This artifact looks vaguely like a surfboard. There is no planet-eater, but there is (of course) a universal threat.

My question: is it possible to borrow the surfboard concept and put a new spin on it, or is the concept forever claimed?

The board isn't really necessary for the story. I just love the idea of flying standing up.

Unless you plan on calling it the Silver Surfer, it's fine.

Why not just do a flying garbage can lid, instead of a surfboard?

I forgot about him...

Well, there are a couple characters out there that use a surfboard, iirc, so I doubt any one entity owns the right to travel via superpowered surfboard.

How about a cosmic riding mower? I don't think that's been done before.

Cosmic Go-kart.

Ftw.

Just give him a cosmic hang-glider.

Or a cosmic Parachute. He can "drift on the cosmic waves"

There are? Well, I know that the Invisible Woman uses an invisible/transparent platform; the Black Racer has skiis (sorry, but that just doesn't work for me at all); Mr. Miracle got cute lil' feet discs (interesting idea); and Metal Master used, well, a plain ol' plate of metal.

Also, anyone ever notice how big the Surfer's board seems to be sometimes (and no, "board" is not being used as a metaphor).

Landscaper of the Spaceways? Gardener of the Galaxy?

Gardener of the Galaxy? [/B]

A character like that actually exists, believe it or not.

After Matter Eater Lad, nothing surprises me.
