I didn't say it was. But all I see is a thread with the same names when I know of better drummers. Surely if someone were to suggest a drummer, someone else would check them out instead of being close minded and typing something silly like 'Tre Cool' a thousand times.

Seems a self-defeating point to make when you name drummers that aren't better than some of the ones already named.

Why don't you think they're as good?

Because they're not?

Neil Peart is the only drummer worthy of the title that YOU'VE mentioned, if that's what we're pursuing, but not the most deserving.

The dude from Nickelback. OMG. He's so amazing. Seroiusly. You all may think I'm totally joking, but...I couldn't be more serious. I'd go and look up his name, but I'm too lazy.....

Umm that doesn't really help lol. Actual reasons would help.

The current Nickleback drummer is good. Very restricted in that bland band but when he solos it's very impressive.

You just bitched about people naming drummers who are much better than him.

-AC

Fair enough.

I believe Stu Mckay is better than Joey Jordison because to start with, he's probably the fastest drummer I've heard/seen. His overuse of triggers may let him down but his ideas and choice of irregular drum beats makes him stand out while still fitting well within a song. His drumming when he was with Burning Skies is simply punishing. To me, while Joey Jordison is still very good, nothing seems to stand out to me.

I like Owen Weeks because I've never seen a drummer who can easily switch to different style so fast within the same song. When he was with Shaped By Fate, at times he was playing metal but suddenly adjusting to a 7/3 jazz beat for a few bars. Then when he joined a more rocky band, he kept the same technique which probably hasn't been heard since Travis Barker. Quite hard to explain- you kinda have to hear it to appreciate it.

Why do you think other drummers mentioned are better?

Well Joey Jordison, Dave Grohl etc are far better than Nickelback's drummer.

So for you to say they don't belong in this thread due to there being better drummers, is a bit dumb.

People are only ever gonna mention their favourites, otherwise what's the point? We could just say Terry Bozzio and be done with it, if technique and skill are what we're focusing on.

the best ever is buddy rich

He's not better than Terry Bozzio.

He's definitely up there, though.

-AC

the best ever is terry bozzio
