Do you think downloading movies is a bad thing?

Your Opinion of Movie Downloading?

after the recent flood of threads trying to tell us where we can download movies, i thought i'd see what you guys all think of this?

i think that its crap, people spend time downloading movies that are generally of a poor quality and the people who spent alot of time and effort making the movie get screwwed because they dont make their money back

James, what are you on? Don't you know that it's en vogue to download pirated movies, cheat Hollywood out of the few dollars they make, all while you sit in a computer desk watching a grainy flick on your 15" monitor and computer speakers? 🙄

oh yeah, what was i thinking. sitting in a cinema in comfy chairs with good big picture and quality sound sucks ass, i'd much rather sit on a dodgy computer chair and listen to crappy sound while my grainy movie plays through Windows Media Player

Downloading movies is usually a bigger pain in the ass and more time consuming then just going to the theater, not worth it in my opinion.

well.......

if you know where to go, you can get direct dvd rips..........then simply burn them onto a dvd or watch them on cineplayer or whatever dvd playing software you have on your computer.......so the quality issue is moot if you've got the right equiptment and know where to get direct dvd rips..........

but I'm against it. As a dvd collector, I think everybody should just go buy a movie if they want to watch it.................

I do not argee wti it.I reather wait till it comes on dvd or video. In a way it is almost stealing adn I think it is also called pirating if I am not mistaken.JM

Keep the camcorder steady.

You don't get 100% quality, I have been told that you don't get 100% even with a direct dvd rip.

As for downloading movies, I have never downloaded a film, I couldn't even be bothered to. I want 100% quality always.

I don't see the point in dl a movie... it takes too much time and its a pain in the a$$... and besides, it doesn't compare to the comfort in a theater ✅

Anywho, tv is ok for me 😉

yep i agree.

whats the point in taking what however much hours to d/load a movie just to get it then watch it to save £5 (British dunno how much it is for USA e.c.t) pointless IMO

and if i do watch a pirate movie i always watch it again anyway because the quality is so bad u cant see what is going on most of the time.

i watched X2 on computer. I saw it in theaters and i wanted to see it again so i though instead of wasting money id download it. I have the dvd. Big movies like lord of the rings have a lot of downloading because they released so late on dvd. That the reason why i download some films. I downloaded meet the fockers and i was thankful i did not go to the theater. It was good but not $10 good.

Personally I think is friggin dumb and stupid. Don't be cheap...buy a ticket and go experience the movie theater feeling of watching a film on the big screen. Nothing is more satisfying (sp?) than watching a movie and eating pop-corn and drinking a coke at the theater.

If I've already seen the movie on big-screen and I really loved it and I want to have all-the-time access to the movie, then yeah I'll download it. But watching it on your pc monitor is nothing like experiencing it on big-screen.

even if i saw it and loved it, i still wouldn't download it, i'd wait and buy it when its released on DVD

Does porn count?

j/king 😛

I've downloaded one movie, and frankly it was a huge hassle and I doubt I'll be doing it again. Took far too long, and the quality wasn't the greatest. Thankfully it was one I had seen in theaters already.

I think its ok to download films as long as you go see the film in the cinima anyway. (or buy/rent the DVD/VHS)

I'd eventually buy it if I loved it, I'd just download it while I'm waiting.

Its the only way to watch a movie in english 😬

I think if you are satisfied enough with watching the movie on your computer, chances are , you dont go to the movies that much anyway.
I dont have a problem with it. The movie industry is not losing any money to this. I think it's always cool to be able to see a movie a few months before it comes out too. It doesnt stop me form actually going and experiencing a movie at the cinema though.
