KOTOR kicks ass, haven't played ROTS I can only assume it's another mindless action/shooting/fighting game. I've played KOTOR through like 5 times, theres so many different paths to take and things to find.
KOTOR 2 kind of sux though, no coherent story at all & no real replay ability. I should really play ROTS before i judge, but KOTOR is my fav game ever, not just my fav star wars game -Get it & play it.
I should give ROTS a whirl soon the graphics look awesomo!
in my opinion KOTOR is the best SW game in a long time and im sorry to any KOTOR2 fans out there but it sucked compared to KOTOR the original gave you a clear cut ending and I think KOTOR has more emotional and replay value then ROTS i mean dont get me wrong i loved ROTS but it was to short and was pretty much the same thing over and over again the best part of it was probably the multiplayer and duel options you gotta love being able to put anakin up against darth vader
Honestly? ROTS is greater than KOTOR. Why? Well, ROTS completed a saga that was the virtual origins of the game. It came with a couple of very heated, dynamic and dramatic scenes... one of which was the most anticipated scene in sci-fi history. It brought about amazing merchandising potential in the form of novels, comic book series, cartoon miniseries, video games and even replicas, clothing, and a kick up in sales of Darth Vader gear worldwide.
ROTS was a tremendous undertaking, requiring training on the part of the actors, work in the form of computer graphics specialists, studio technicians, and an aggressive promo campaign by marketing crews. ROTS was a reason for people to take the day off of work or school and to camp out, sometimes even for days, awaiting to buy a single movie ticket to see the show once. Or perhaps repeatedly. Some even sat through the entire six movie saga.
ROTS was successful and great enough to spawn its own KMC subforum, to respark the life into the Star Wars saga, and to set standards by which the rest of the series will be judged.
This, in my opinion, outshines Game of the Year KOTOR by far.

KOTOR Has the most realistic and interactive caracters in the Star Wars saga.
KOTOR Entered an arie never before entered in the Star Wars saga.
KOTOR started a series.
KOTOR had things you didn't expecr, come on let's face it, EVERYONE knew Anakin was going to become vader, EVERYONE knew Palpatine was going to be emperor, EVERYONE knew that the Jedi would die, EVERYONE knew that Padme` was going to die, EVERYONE knew that Anakin and padme` had twins, KOTOR BROUGHT SOMETHING BACK STARWARS DIDN'T HAVE SINCE THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK!
KOTOR was way beter than ROTS will ever be!
Deus is right.
If you're talking about 'importance', well it's no competition. The movies are the most important things to the Star Wars universe. If there hadn't been the movies, there likely would have never been a Star Wars franchise for the games to be created.
KOTOR one game of the year. An excellent award, no doubt, but if you were to ask the world of which is more popular: the games or the movies, they'd say the movies.
Now, the rest of the argument would be a repeat of Deus's true and final words. So re-read them.
