Can any one religion be true all by itself and no other?

There is evidence proving aspects of the bible incorrect and arbitrary. Most of the time christianity gets around it by changing the connotations of words (like heavan, which used to mean sky, untill we went there and found nothing, and then it was moved to space, until we went there, and found nothing, and now many people move it beyond into some other etherial place that we can never go so it can never be displaced again).

Science and religion were the smae thing until the enlightenment period. Most scientific "research" was conducted by and through the church, at least through funding. Science was viewed as one of the best ways to try to realize gods divine presence on the earth.

* and may i ask, what are the evidences that proves Bible is incorrect? regarding the "heaven-sky" thing, there are passages in the Bible that the heaven pertains to the sky, while some pertains to the place where God the Creator is... for example, in II Corinthians 12, Saint Paul states a "third heaven", not because so scientists cannot displace it but there really is... 😉

the other heavans don't specificaly reference somehting other than the sky...at least that is how I remember it.

That still doesn't change the curch's historical use of the word "heaven"

Maybe a better way to put it is that what we would call god is pure knowledge and science is the exploration of that knowledge. Humans are always striving to understand and acquire that knowledge. That was the old harmony between religion and science.

Science was a way to get closer to god. It still can be.

From what I understand an Atheist has NO Belief in that anything can do with the supernatural or unexplainable............For most it has to be concrete.????.............Am I Wrong...........I may be.

well, like all faith. Its personal. I know what relgious experiences are and I have them. I just don't attribute them to an intelligent being or subscribe to a religious order.

There's not much in life that is supernatural, but some things are unexpalinable. consciousness is not explicable, but it clearly exists. There might be a spiritual element to that, but its not god, its the miracle of human existance/nature.

I've been over that i feel an "intelligence" indicates a conscious supernatural being. THe laws of physics don't have "intelligence" to them. They simply exist.

Its that feeling you get when you feel so small and insignificant in the face of something so beautiful/aweful. I get it in relation to many things. Nature, the night sky, Chicago, some artwork, my first experence that I can remember was seeing the American bombing of Iraq Gulf War I when I was 5. I get it everyime I watch 9-11. It happens a lot.

With over 300 fullfilled prophesies about Jesus, you bet it is the only one truth regarding past, present and future. 🙄

A good point! The bible teaches that God has revealed Himself by the things that He has made. So we are all without excuse.
