It's purely conjecture which is more PIS out of that she can or can't phase through adamantium without pain, but I would say since it's only adamantium she has trouble with then that she can should be used.
If the reason is purely density of the metal, then her phasing ability should vary in difficulty depending on the density of other subjects she phases through too and other dense substances should also cause pain. This has never been shown to my knowledge.
Regardless she can do it. She phases through Wolverine as she does so she extends her phasing so that she takes with her Logan's heart, lungs, liver and spine. She feels pain yes, but she kills Logan too.
Better yet. She doesn't even need to phase into him. She can extend her phase to Logan's organic tissue only thuse tearing him from his skeleton. In doing so even if Logan were to survive this the pain of phasing through adamantium would knock him out since he's a 'passenger' of her phasing, as stated by srank At which point she solidifies to step on his exposed brain. No pain for Kitty and one dead Logan.

Kitty is made for pure melee types like Logan, and the hulk.
During the tweleve story line it was said that Kitty needs to keep her legs... um un-phase in melee combat so that she can generate power and get leverage. Not really much of a disadvantage but I'm sure someone could capitalize on that

But is acceptable that she would win against Wolverine? If so then that's two off the list of seriously underestimated characters.
If we turn CIS off Kitty basically falls in with Cyclops in that they could win close to 10 out of 10 but I'm still skeptical about Kurt.
Wolverine is invunrable to telepathy now thanks to the Hand/AIM so do we know if he kept his other upgrades?

But spidetman has superhuman speed, his muscles are stronger he is lighter and limber , therefore he can move much faster, thats why I use logic, because everything u read doesn't make senxe.
cause it's so logical to take one quote as the gospel truth when ALL other evidence goes against it....(breaking wolvie's neck)
but not another when all evidence should support it...(wolverine's speed)
yeah.........logical....🙄

in the recent avengers title....incoming missiles are about the nail the team as they are rushing head on into a massive assault...only two people catch what's coming their way...even before iron man's scanners pic up the missiles on radar...the first is spiderman...the other is wolvie....nuff said...
It's not precog...it's just his enhances senses...he can hear smell and feel things hundreds of times greater than we can....I mean...ever try to sneak up on a healthy sleeping dog....it's damn near impossible...now ampliphy those senses another 80 to 100% more...and give the subject a human brain....it's not hard to see how logan could have (and did for that matter) catch something like that...
The pain induced is disputable as PIS. She has shown no pain to any other substance, there should be a difficulty scale in her phasing if this weakness is to be plausible from something easy eg water leading up to the density of adamantium but there is not. In everything but adamantium she has pain.
The fact that she can still phase through is not disputable, even if it does induce pain. She rips out his heart. It hurts for a moment but then there's just the rush of victory.
Secondly she need not even phase into his adamantium to do this she can avoid the bones.
Third in contact she can extend her phase to Logan's organic tissue only thus his tissues phase through his own skeleton. In doing so even if Logan were to survive this; the pain of phasing through adamantium would knock him out, as stated by srank, since he's a 'passenger' of her phasing and he passes through adamantium. At which point she solidifies to step on his flaccid head to squish his unprotected brain. No pain for Kitty and one dead Logan.
I really don't get why it's disputable as pis when it's happened on several occasions...in a training session with wolvering...wolvie casually slashed at her and she phased through the attack....but she collapsed saying that she wanted to die....
some years later...she phased through sabretooth and was so incapacitated from the experience that she could no longer defend herself......and was left at his mercy....
when she grabbed viper to make her phase through sabretooth's attack the pain was so incapacitating that it floored viper as soon as she bacame caporial.....
in theory all wolvie has to do is rush in kitty's general direction.....not a whole lot she can do...if she phases she gets ****** up....if she doesn't well....
Is there a term for things that writers incorporate into a character that just make no sense. Until there is I'm just going to use PIS. In the early days she could phase through adamantium, I have no idea when they decided to make her vulnerable to adamantium but its just silly and I've explained why.
If I recall phased is her natural state now, she concentrates to remain tangible. Anyway if wolverine rushes her she either floats into the air beyond shorty's reach to stalemate him or sinks into the ground and emerges somewhere else.
Before you say it no Wolverine senses cannot detect where she is underground because scent requires odourant molecules any odourant molecules that leave her body would become tangible and are trapped in the ground. They never reach Wolverine's nose. From underground Kitty could phase his legs under ground and let go of him.
