You guys need to forget about the lame 2 panel crossovers. There were in fact 2 Punisher/Batman standalone crossovers done in mid 90's. The first crossover was written by Danny O'Neil and the second by Chuck Dixon. The first one involved the Azrael stand in since this was around the time Bats had his back broken and Punisher snuffed him too easily. Surprising, considering Danny O'Neil and the publishing was definitely pro-DC. The second is more on point since it involves Bruce Wayne but was done by Marvel artist John Romita Jr and published by Marvel. Also surprising considering the outcome.
Great story and the best crossover I have ever read bar-none. I'll scan some pages when I head back to my house later this week. It basically involves Punisher coming to Gotham to track down Jigsaw who has teamed up with the Joker. Frank and Wayne duke it out twice, in the beginning and the end and Wayne comes out as a clear winner. Albeit, the first battle involved Wayne cracking Frank in the back of the skull with a double kick surprising him and then a flaming warehouse toppling down around them. Here, the battle's kind of a stalemate although Frank is starting to get overwhelmed by Bat's preciseness. But like Frank has said, "It doesn't matter. He's a rock and can take it." (Daredevil/Punisher #1)
The second battle is pretty much Dixon's take on what would happen if Punisher wanted to throw down with Bats. Bats let's Frank tag him in the face with a haymaker because he allows the Joker to run away, saying "I let you have that one because you probably think I deserved it." The followup by Frank is easily countered and he's tossed aside like garbage and Bats says, "I said one." Obviously, Frank had been shot in both shoulders and was bleeding massively while Bats was barely injured, but it was pretty thorough and I thought had no prejudice whatsoever. This was the comic that had me being a fan of Punisher in the first place cuz the inner dialogue was just great. The Punisher is my favorite read, cuz he really is just a badass, but I think Chuck Dixon is a fair authority since he's authored so many of each character's books. I'll try and get the scans up by Wedesnday. ^^
Sweet Onedumb, great post, and if you could post some scans it would be great aswell, i always wanted that crossover but never got around to it...yeah pun would get the short end of the stick when it comes to a fight, but in an all out war, Franks has to come out on top he is just as determined as bats and even more deadly...and yes punisher is BADASS...

The Punisher had a great send-off line to Batman:"You know, you and that giggling idiot deserve each other." Just stayed with me.

I have the crossover in trade: DC/Marvel Crossover Classics 2
It also had a Surfer/Superman, Captain America/Batman [Different ending then I expected] crossovers as well. It wasn't bad, and it was just $20.95 (CAN).
I loved how Joker left the goon on the beach and.... well, you just have to see it for yourself.
