actually sabes is a good three or four classes above thing in the fighting ability department....thing has fast reflexes...sabretooth's are faster...and thanks to his upgrades, things only about 8 to 9 times stronger than sabes...which is practically nothing when faced against an adamantiumized wolverine-like character on steroids...

psst, jinzin, no he didn't. herc and hulk fought 1on1 in that issue (it's where my pithy little quote comes from!) while the other avengers took a breather and 'discussed strategy'. that herc/hulk battle was a draw and the whole battle was interrupted by samson. hulk has never defeated a non-depowered herc. nor has herc beat hulk, to be fair . . .

as far as this thread goes, i don't know enough about upgraded sabes to comment. wolvie certainly hurt ben with his claws in the face, but that REALLY pissed benjy off and wolvie paid for it. sabes appears far stronger now than wolvie though. still ben doesn't go down easy for no one. wish i was better informed. sounds like a good fight.

my bad...I haven't read that comic in years...i remember the avengers on the sidelines cause hulk was whoopin em...and I remember herc doing a lot of bounding around, but trying to avoid hulk head on..... in either case I'm glad you corrected me cause it only helps to further my point.....thanks for keepin me honest though...😕

Not so fast... Again i have to refer to marvel.com. You can't not take marvels own descriptions of their characters on their own site, and then say that you have to believe in whatever happens in a certain writers version of the character in a particular storyline.

fisrt off marvel.com is not only horribly outdated...it is often/consistantly PROVEN to be simply incorrect.....in any case...these stats while completely different from the majority of the stats I've ever seen from these two, are obviously for thing and the NON enhanced sabretooth.....
in any case...thing's always been a 3 or 4 in fighting ability while sabes has alsways retained a 6 to 7......this is pretty well known and accepted...
Sabretooth has always, been considerably faster than wolverine and as proven to be as fast as spidey..that puts him at three at least...considering his new superstrength upgrade it should go to at least a 4.....
sabretooth was a 4 on durability before his adamantium what do you think it is with it? IMO he's at least a good 5 to 6 now...
In any case, sabretooth has always suffered from stats given to him, especially when nearly ALLLLL his feats would imply that the statistics about him are simply incorrect.... he was classified to be a worse fighter than wolverine...but out-fought him in every fight they had up into the mid 90's.
He was classified as a peak human in speed....when he was stated several times to be either a blur or of superior speed to logan, who pushes low end superhuman levels...
he had slightly enhanced durability...but was able to get hit with a lightning bolt and not even fall down...
he had peak human strength...but took down rogue in 3 hits, took her best flying punch (which knocked him out of a skyscraper) and survived, uppercut logan 3 stories into the air.....
point is....every one of his stats save intelligence and energy projection was completely off, when his CONSISTANT (since everyone likes this word so much) showings proved that he was farrrrrrrr abov human levels...yet he was classified as a peak human in all things save durability...the stats you are using are just more of the same....and not even counting in his enhancements.......ENHANCEMENTS (since I guess you missed that the first time around)......by stats from the early 90's late 80's he isn't even the same character...even when in comparision from the early 90's to late 80's....fact is sabretooth is one of the worse characters to pull up stats for as if they mean something for this fight for the simple fact that all his stats save a couple have always been wrong...this is exactly why stats really don't determine a fight here.

hmmm intersting...wolverine not being able to cut through his skin when he's never had a problem with it before....and is capible of breaking through hulk's skin....okay so that's wolverine vs ben 50/50 now....but against sabretooth who's incredibly farrrrrr more than what wolverine is on the physical level....benn will not have the satisfaction of a victory...
In FF versus X-Men, Reed himself said that the claws of Wolverine could cut through Thing. And some time later, in the FF comics, Wolverine actually sliced Things face like it was nothing.
Not only that, but Wolverine can also cut the Hulk - any Hulk, and Hulk is more durable than Thing - without much effort, so I really don't see why he couldn't stab Thing anymore.

Different writers. And Logan originally couldnt cut Hulks skin either. The first he cut was the grey Hulk, did he cut him anytime else?
