funny that...cause the football is being held in cardiff and the sailing isn't in London either...many events will be held outwith Londonregardless
Dear Mr Chirac
we may have terrible food (although anyone who eats frogs and snails has no right to criticise food of another country)
we may have been the source of mad cow disease
but we have the olympics...and you don't
😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
2) I told you I was against Paris' candidacy
3) You guys are really impossible. You're like the articles of the International Herald Tribune : the journalist talks about a serious and complex social/political phenomenon but can't help putting the example about "his nephew moving to the South of Spain for the summer and who have difficulties....". Come on ! Half of the French population was against this project, despite all that propaganda we had to endure for months. And the only thing you can notice is that a dozen of idiots insulting a journalist using words they barely understand, trying to get some attention because they consider the BBC correspondent as a walking provokation...
The Olympics are lame. I dont know why anyone would actually want their city to host the event. It's outrageously expensive, the pollution and waste created is enormous, the traffic and inconvenience (especially in a crowded city such as London) are going to be torture.
Seeing as it's London its also going to be ultra expensive for foreign travelers. Just imagine the security costs. 🤪
NYC will never host the Olympics; there's barely enough room to breath as it is. 😛

if you were against it then why are you getting so upset?
What crap are you talking about ?
no crap...chirac was his great beauracratic self last week
but the kind of "Mwwahah we are the best !- you suck little snail-eaters - " way of thinking, even when it is a joke, annoys me.
sorry...didn't mean to annoy anyone...just indulging is some dry British humour...best in the world
😉 😆
👆 jaden 😉
If this is true (Libération, the newspaper that released the news is a left-wing one that always criticize Chirac), and I assume it is, Chirac really lost his mind and deserve to be called a real idiot...for being caught. I don't appreciate such jokes but I don't judge them either.
Anyway back to the topic peeps.

New York didn't really have a good chance. Salt Lake City and private financing sank it.
Which is sad, because New York was the best candidate city. From moving around 16 million people daily to having more money than God, New York could pull it off and make money on the venture. Not to mention that New York City has never hosted an Olympics, yet it's one of, if not the most, multi-cultural cities in the world.
I'm glad that New York didn't get the Games, but it was definitely the best city to host them.
