See PVS you're getting into the issue of money. And when more money is involved then we're talking contracts. And establishing a contract involves legal matters. And that is when it totally defeats the purpose of having bum fights. And don't want you to think that I fully support these bumfights. Bumfights that involved extortion or even murder should be penalize by the law.

There are many other cases in which people make profit of other peoples misery. Certain cases of Bumfights are included others are not. Because like I said they agree to participate.

Desperate people will, but rational thinking people will not. And getting into the topic of morals here is rather broad. But if you find it (And is quite clear that you do) morally wrong than I won't debate you on the basis of morals.

Never saw a bumfights video..but see the commercials all the time.

Wrestlers are professionals, they are trained and have the proper provisions to ensure their safety to the highest possible caliber. There are paramedics and safety technicians standing by ready incase something goes wrong. They know how to land, how to fake hits, and how to do the real hits with the chairs, they know where to hit and how to make it look real. Also there are story lines, characters, rivalries and such that make the WWE far more theatrical and more then just random brutality.

Also, the average WWE wrestler may not own a mansion, but they make enough to live comfortably, to own a house and by food. The bums get 15 bucks so they can buy a denny's meal.

The bums have no training, there is no medical personal standing by, there is no set ups or prior knowledge of how to fake a hit or how/where to hit someone so it won't injure them badly, and the people putting on the "show" themselves have no training, they are failures at life and have to resort to paying desperate homeless people small amounts of money to hurt themselves for cheap, witless, redundant "entertainment".

I most definitely agree BackFire! Bumfights are the prime example of how far selfish, ignorant and uncaring b*stards will go to make a easy buck out of the misery of the unfortunate in society, as they are to aware of the other pitiful and sick suckers who just love to wank off at their videos.
Even more frightful to me is that there is a large enough audience for this sort of shit to make it profitable. A nice proof of how far a man can sink and still think of himself as floating.

paying bums to do moronic shit to themselves is fine. Even manipulating them is fine. Persuading them to break the law isnt. I personally think the things that are found in bumfights is evil. However, people do need to take responsibility for there own decesions.

These people live outside 'our world'. They are easily seduced with the least of afford. It is not the bums breaking the laws, it's the moronic b!tches behind the camera doing the true damage.

i agree that a)its immoral(probably) and b)tastless but more important than that is the fact that it gets ppl talkin and isnt that wat good movies are supposed to do,besides like wind dancer said all moral bullshit aside it is very entertaining and humorous and anyway some of the bums in particular rufus and bling bling are now famous worldwide and are actually quite proud of there role in bumfights,so arent they at least in someways better off

True enough, although Fighting isn't as simple as you think and homeless people aren't and simple as thought, either. But yes, the movie is quite stupid. Exploiting the scrapage of poor people who have been thrown or dished out onto the street is just absurd, stupid and outright pointless.

These are truly defenseive people. A lawyer who was suing on behalf of two of the bumfights 'performers' (both veterans) put them up in a motel while the case was pending. She also brought them pizza every day, and it took these people a month before they could work up the nerve to tell her that they didnt' like pizza.

They asked one of them to hit the other; he said no. They were best friends. They bought him a beer. He hit his friend, his friend fell and broke his leg in three pieces.

These aren't just actors, these are people. Real people, with problems you couldn't imagine. It's not funny, it's not cool, it's not entertainment - you're watching the exploitation of some of the kindest, gentlest, most defenseless people there are in the world.
