In the sense of seniority. I had an impact on KMC as soon as I got here. Hell, I was made a mod after only 9 months.. 😛

I remember when you first joined I didnt like you 😛 ...But then you started posting in the horror When it was in its prime then I thought you were cool and we're cool now 🤣

Maybe it's because i dont make friends here, i just like to observe others opinions. Since i have been here though, i think the only thing that has changed is more young people joining, but i havent noticed anykind of noticable change in topics, other than people making topics about anything that comes to mind. Again, this could be because i dont know anyone personally.

Yeah, the horror section is plagued with redundancy, but i have no good topics to bring up, so i cant complain. KMC is still a cool place to come and throw away an hour or two.

I'm a noob, I've got no problem saying so, because I don't think I act like the typical one. I can't say much about how it used to be way back when, but I do find that there is rarely a thread that has an actual good conversation going on. There was actually a thread in the OTF where myself, bardock and a few others had a good discussion. It got a little off topic for a bit but we got it back on track for a little while. I didn't really think about it then but Bardock said it was "too good for the OTF" or something like that and it didn't hit me until I read it that I was actually in the OTF. Anyway the OTF is quite retarded at times but its needed so the GDF doesn't get overrun with moronic threads. I like them both because they both serve their purposes. I like KMC its a good break from my RX7 forum that I'm part of where the noob bashing is much worse and the 3rd gen owners act like asses to everyone else.....sorry went off on a tangent. Anyway I think this place is awesome and it has been a little dull but a lot of times I'll find good threads to read because sometimes I'm not too knowledgeable about the thread subject and its just good to hear it from others. I like it.....peace.

Oh and my biggest annoyance is when people talk lyk th3s and think th3y R c00l

whats the damn deal with people being so touchy about staying on topic in threads? this is one thing i have never understood. Isnt KMC a place for people to converse? Why should someone have to start a completely new thread if a conversation inspires an off topic thought? As long as others show interest in the topic brought up...who cares?

yeah but lets just say that we were talking about wwII and then go off topic about lego as in the building blocks and start talking about how they are addicted to playing with legos. It can be frustrating. But I for one am not bothered by it.

Pointless thread, this is how forums are. How many times has a thread like this been done on every forum on the web? I wish I had a penny for it.

Elitist

These kind of threads do that, they become group think and elitist.

Asking people what they feel is wrong with KMC? Give me a break. Not every forum is like this, I've been on plenty. I'm going to use MY position to KMC's advantage and set shit straight around here. Behind the scenes, I'm pushing to get a lot done. You'd say that "this is how forums are", that doesn't mean this is the way forums have to be.

People or only the ones you want to hear? Out of the ten of thousands of members maybe 25 have responded! Elitist!

BTW, when I say clueless, I mean you've been here a couple of months, and it's different from the inside looking out as a veteran and a moderator.

Elitist "I've been this blah, blah, blah", "I did this blah, blah, blah"😂

The nature of things is change learn to embrace it, You will find in life you have to keep proving yourself, and new people to a forum will ask the same old tired questions to you, because they are new to them.
Search engines are all very well but.........
The other thing you get is regulars who think they are above others......
hmmmmmmmm...............

This thread will have been done a few months ago also, under a different name.

Yes I've seen another one but this one is different because the people in this one are actually having a civilized discussion about it.

Elitist 😄 Inference 😄
group think 😄

think what you will.

Oh, I forgot to add that I hardly think I'm part of any group other then prolly being thrown in with the other noobs. Although I do think I'm a bit less idiotic then most of them.

Thats the nice thing about Free Speech on a "Forum" which doesn't prevent reasonable views, posts and threads, I can 😄

This sort of rule/ban/impose/elite/thread attempts to stop that😄

yes, but it doesnt stop the topic from going forward for people not interested in the sub topic. I miss playing with lego's, everything i built always looked like shit though. My mom could only afford the smallest sets. 🙁

I'm with you on that one.

It's not really a big deal if they go off topic, or not.

I agree😄 It will always happen, unless you ban everyone. Sometimes we all post minor attention seeking stuff, this thread is elitist and controlling😄 imo

Your definition of "elitist" is bogus, but I suppose by me saying that, it's just me being an "elitist", just like asking people's opinions is apprently "elitist".

Me stating that I was never defined by the technical definition of "noob" is not being elitist, it's being truthful. I had been participating on the largest Star Wars collecting forums in the United States for well over 5 years, so I honed my craft, and know my way around.

The nature of things, when they change for the worse, is to fix it, not accept it and deal. I've put too much time, effort, and passion into these forums to see it continue to decline in its quality. Sorry you think that polling for people's opinions is so elitist, and that I want to change what's wrong. How that is being elitist is far, far beyond me.

Anycrap, the same thread probably will pop up, just as someone complaining, not as someone's attempt to legitimately change the forums out of sheer love, compassion, and appreciaton for them as I have.

Your "views" aren't even reasonable. You think what I'm doing is to make a name for myself, set myself higher than others, when all I am doing is asking a simple question to make a point to some people who obviously don't care.

Nobody said people that go off topic are to be repremanded, so get that out of your heads. It does happen, and there's not a lot you can do about those who chose to hijack and disrespect others threads, unless they do it purposefully.

I think that the ROG forums are good. Except that Ush is never in the Hosted and Unhosted. Hes ussaly in the Star Wars. Whcich is fine, but we need someone to get in those and say OK to ideas. Most people dont even have permission and are starting there own threads because he is never there to say no. I think we need another mod, or sub mod, as proposed in the thread to help clear up the idea flow.

Ush said he wouldnt go through the last 20 pages so we had to re explain an idea. I understand that people go on vacation, but there needs to be a second mod.

Don't be silly. There doesn't need to be a second mod just because I was on a holiday. People just need some patience.

I think your doing it because you have lost perspective and this post doesn't change my opinion. People have a right to say what they wish (unless it infringes the rules) stupidity is not a crime. As a mod or ex mod you should understand that.

😄

I don't know where you're going with this? I started a poll to get people's view of KMC at this present time, and you're problem with that is........?

Lost my perspective? You're going to need to elaborate, there.

First of all lots of people are on KMC and use a few forums, you need to have this thread posted on all of them, to actually know what people on KMC think.
GDF is by nature reasonably elitist, its discussions are by definition often more topical or deeper than the other forums. You will always get some Trolls, Flamers, Stupid Poster and Spammers. It is very different to know what is stupidity and what is not.
This Forum has 70000 odd members 35 respondees, does not really amount to a valid sample. Try doing significance bars on that.
All this is is an excuse to say I have been here so long,...... I am this,.......did you see that,......how stupid is that,.........it was better when I joined..............blah,blah,blah I'll take it more seriously when you have even 300 active members respond😄

Under the "News and Questions" forum, we have a "Suggestion" thread which is frequented quite often. If people want to make suggestions, and they feel things need to be changed, that's where they'll direct their questions and concerns.

As for the GDF being "elitist", so is the MDF. GDF is for more direct, intellectual conversation, where as the MDF is for mindless banter, usually conjured up by the younger demographic here on KMC. I delve a little into both, as do most people. But who's to blame for the forums contents? Not Raz, not any adminstrator, it's the forum members. I mean, the forums are specifically designated for those types of discussion. They aren't exclusive to anyone, and are comprised of what YOU make it.

While nobodies opinion is more valuable than the next persons, the GDF plays host to a lot of intellectual people, the likes of which I've engaged with socially plenty of times. I value their somewhat more educated opinion. I'm calling it like it is.

The actual number of people that particpate on KMC actively is well under 1,000. The people that actually care about the workings of the forums are the ones that participate. Those that don't either don't care to comment, or are happy with the way their ran. That doesn't mean that the entire community is satisifed, and that the outstanding problems don't need to be tended to. You can't assume MOST people are happy because they don't participate. If their are underlying problems that need to be addressed, regardless of how many people agree, they should be fixed.

You won't get 300 active members to respond, mainly because you're not taking into consideration the clientele of these forums, being mostly kids who honestly don't have a vested interest in these forums outside of their "friends". Honestly, weither you take this thead "seriously" or not is of no concern to me, personally. You haven't been here long enough to voice a valid opinion, frankly. Meanwhile, as you have seen, there have been testimonies from those who have been here longer than I have, both good and bad. "It will bounce back.." yadda, yadda, yadda. Perhaps, but I'll guarantee you that this forum hasn't had someone as dedicated as myself in an adminstrative position. It doesn't make my opinion any more qualified or what have you, but people do tend to listen to reason, and I hope that both this little proclamation coupled with the forum outline I've submitted, as well as all the other feedback result in wonderful things for KMC in the future.

No ones opinion is more valuable than anyone elses but mine is not valid 😂
Nice double standard you got there😄
You set the bench mark for posting.........cool. 🙄
