Approaching the End
It took a few minutes for the Flood to leave the room that Kiltok presently resided in. Making his move, he began to slink away from the parasite in the opposite direction. He turned a corner and saw more Flood down the corridor. They were the human version of the parasite, having being infected and transformed into hideous beasts. Although there were only four, Kiltok eased up against the wall to make himself a smaller target. The shadows in the corridor were sufficient to cover Kiltok from this distance, but as soon as one of the Flood came closer, they would notice him.
To his great dismay, one of the larger Flood began to hobble down the hall towards Kiltok. Kiltok instinctively groped for his sword's hilt, but then thought against the idea. The other Flood would see the sword. Instead, Kiltok grappled for his plasma gun, hoping the Flood would pass, and he would be able to get a strike from behind.
The Flood came ever closer. Soon he was a few feet... a foot... Kiltok pressed hard against the wall so the Flood wouldn't accidentally brush against him. The parasite passed directly in front of Kiltok, leaving a disgusting, rotten odor behind. When the parasite had passed, Kiltok moved, ever so silently. He brought his weapon up high, and then made it come crashing down on the Flood's "head." The limp body crumpled to the floor, and Kiltok breathed a sigh of relief.
Three more to go...
