Once I get back into and finish Twilight Princess I'm really going to have to get you all to explain this multiple time line thing to me.

It's sounds enticing. I love that kind of stuff.

Just ask me anytime, Inner. I've made a hobby of connecting the Zelda games and have written an outline of what are, to me, the most logical connections.

ok, connect this. There are certain references in majora's mask that do not make sense if there is a split timeline. Miyamoto is the end all say all authority on the matter. and finally, the flood in windwaker covered only the hyrule seen in ocarina and twilight princess. My theory is that the great sea is the dividing ocean in the adventure of link and that the hyrule in link to th past and minish lay south of that. to sum it up, hyrule is a massive country.

My order is-Minish Cap, Four Swords, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Phantom Hour Glass, Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link, Oracles, Link's Awakening, Four Swords Adventures, A Link to the Past.

Four Sword Saga timeline:

Minish Cap

Four Swords

Four Swords Adventures

Main Series timeline:

Ocarina of Time
(Child Ending) ::::::::::::: (Adult Ending)

Majora's Mask ::::::::::: The Wind Waker

Twilight Princess ::::::::: Phantom Hourglass

A Link to the Past

Link's Awakening (?)

Legend of Zelda

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Anywhere Games:

Oracle of Ages/Seasons

Link's Awakening (?)

The prologue to TWW clearly tells that it takes place in the timeline as when OoT Link defeated Ganon in the future. Furthermore, this Ganondorf recognizes WW Link's green tunic and hat, and went to great lengths to seal the Master Sword, proving that he fears it's power, having remembered it from the past, when he was first destroyed by it.

In TP, sages who are not the Sages awakened by Link in OoT put Ganondorf on trial and (attempt to) execute him, and then send him to the Twilight Realm. During the game, Ganondorf says nothing at all about either TP Link's clothes or the sword he wields, which he surely would have had this been the same Ganondorf that had fought the adult Hero of Time only about a century earlier. From this, the most logical conclusion is that TP Ganon is not, in fact, the same Ganondorf that adult OoT Link defeated, and that he is what Ganondorf would have become if Link had never opened the Door of Time.

ALttP's history meshes much more easily with TP's version of the sages and Ganondorf than with OoT's (though Ganny was revived at some point between TP and ALttP, presumably in TP's upcoming sequel). Therefore it logically follows TP for the time being.

LA could be in two spots. There are those who believe it is ALttP Link (which is supported by the fact that LA was created after ALttP, while the series' timeline was still fairly straightforward, and by how Zelda games come in pairs, and LA pairs off with ALttP), and there are those who believe it comes after the Oracle saga.

ALttP was expressly a prequel to LoZ, so LoZ must follow ALttP in the same timeline. AoL is an express sequel to LoZ, so must follow it in the same timeline.

Phantom Hourglass is an express sequel to TWW, and so must follow in it's timeline.

The Oracle games enclose themselves, and so can be inserted at any point after which Ganon has been killed.

The Four Sword games are known to be far in the past to the rest of the series, but so far have no true connections and thus are currently in a timeline of their own.

😛

note that it's explicitely stated in a link to the past that only silver arrows can kill one with the triforce and that the game and shigeru miyamoto both state that it comes last.

elaboration-

Imprisoning war (as seen in intro to link to the past and minish cap, and cut scene in twilight princess).
Minish Cap
Four Swords
Vaati is revived once more and kidnaps several maidens. he is sealed in the four sword.
Four swords
Ocarina of time
(Zelda doesn't send anyone back in time, she, link, and epona are simply reduced to their youth.
Majora's Mask
the remove ganon from the dark world and attempt to execute him with a sword of light in order to get back the triforce of power. They fail and must trap him in the twilight realm.
Twilight Princess
Ganon is left for dead after being wounded with the master sword but he eventually recovers and finds himself in Hyrule with the triforce. His attack is so vicious that the gods flood hyrule.
Wind Waker
Phantom Hourglass
hyrule is rebuilt on its outskirts and ancient territories spanning at least three continents. Ganon is revived somehow and steals the triforce of power.
Legend of Zelda
sometime before his death, ganon revives twinrova
Adventure of link
Oracles
Twinrova successfully revived ganon but since they were not alive to control the resurrection, they were not able to combine his mind and body
His mind still alive, ganon is reborn and reclaims his power by stealing the trident of power (hence why he is mentioned as an ancient demon reborn)
Four swords adventures
Ganon escapes from the four sword, shattering it and manages to steal the triforce, the sages trap him in the dark world again.
A link to the past

Well, so as not to clutter up the thread, let's take this to PMs.

Or to the thread Lana pointed out, if you want everyone to watch as I systematically prove you wrong.

k

No, actually, I can finish it off much faster for you to return this on track (quite aisde form the fact that if you take 'explicit stating', they have also explicitly stated that there is a split timeline)

Jello, you say

"Zelda doesn't send anyone back in time, she, link, and epona are simply reduced to their youth."

WRONG

Zelda clearly says to Link at the end:

"As a Sage, I can return you to your original time with it."

The game itself makes it absolutely clear that he is sent back in time. Not to mention that it makes no bloody sense for Zelda to turn herself into a child when she never lost her childhood in the first place- she LIVED through it genuinely. It was only Link who skipped it. And furthermore, in the post-credit scene in OOT, child Link meets child Zelda in a location which does not exist any more in the future timeline, thereby confirming beyond any doubt that he has returned back in time.

Hence your premise is nonsense in several fundamental ways. If you want to do this kind of thing, pay proper attention.

To return this to the relevance to this thread... whether TP is actually set in an alternate, past-based version of Hyrule is unclear; as ever, it is just interesting speculation.

Which Sage was it that Ganon destroys in the TP cutscene about his imprisonment, btw?

I don't remember off-hand, but I'm fairly sure it was the Sage of Water. The sacred seals are mostly distinctive, except for Water and Light looking similar, and the Sage of Light was the "leader" of sorts who spoke to Link most of the time.

And hopefully that's that tangent complete.

I love how you are so rude to some members who stay off topic but so polite to others, almost as if you're asking/begging them to stop but others you DEMAND it as if they just smacked your mother or something. Favoritism.

Some members have a decent attitude. Some do not. I don't really feel a need to be terribly polite to people who are not at all polite and act like they can get away with copping an attitude with people constantly.

Inner, let's make it simple:

Those who generally follow the rules, listen to the mods, and are polite and respectful to other people are the ones being reminded that they are doing something that ought to be stopped.

Those who have a tendency to intentionally annoy others, argue with the mods about pointless things (such as accusations of favoritism), find faults in any way they can, and basically act like an ass are the ones being shoved back into line.

Now please, back on topic. If you have issues with how Lana's running her forum, take it to the appropriate forum.

General Kaliero, let's make it all the more simpler:

If you feel the need to "backseat mod" as Lana put it, don't.

Lana's response was enough with yours unneeded.

"Now please, back on topic. If you have issues with how" members interpret things on the forum, "take it to the appropriate forum."

ANATA WA WAKARIMASU KA.....

Let ME make it as simple as it's going to get.

If you are rude to people and constantly have an attitude, do not expect politeness from me. I am not in any way required to be nice to people when I'm modding. If you see me being polite to people, then it is because they themselves are generally polite and do not make a habit of making snide comments and being rude to others for no reason.

InnerRise, drop it. Your reply was just as unneeded, as is your entire attitude.

I do not want to hear another word of this. The next post in this thread had better be on topic.

That backchat of yours is going to get you thrown out of here for good one day, InnerRise. Bite back the instinct to always answer back to people- every time you do it, patience with you grows thinner.

I want to play this but I dunno if I should wait to get it on Wii , or just snag a copy for cube 😬

erm.........................wii version ✅
it has funnier glitches 😖hifty:
