It... was a very obvious April Fools' joke, created by IGN. ermm
Alot of attention was placed into detail on it, they even made a behind-the-scenes featurette. Were it not for three obvious facts, I may have even thought it was possible.
1. The fact that it said IGN on the screen that showes the main actors and the companies that developed them. IGN wouldn't have had anything to do with it.
2. The fact that it was released on April first.
3. The fact that the featurette was released on the same day (April first) as the trailer.
Good joke, well done, but still easy to pick out.

ign and gamespot always put their logos in videos, even if they never made them 😬
No, not the logo in the bottom-right hand corner, there is another one in the text itself you know, the thing that looks like this: (This one is from the back of the Harry Potter 5 DVD)
There are two logos, one is the company that was supposedly making the movie and the other was IGN.
Either way a Zelda movie would be Awesome. I really don't see why they don't make one, I mean there have been movies for less sucessful games.
A Zelda movie would suck. It could never be done to a point that would satisfy everyone, gamers, non-gamers, fanatics and casual players, alike. Plus how do you adapt the story of even one game (let alone try to build a single story out of several) and preserve the feeling of Zelda while removing non-movie material, such as the dungeons that are the core of every Zelda game.
It just wouldn't work.
Don't base it on any of the games that are out. Make a new story, working closely with Miyamoto. Like to the point that Miyamoto literally writes a script. And why remove the dungeons? odds are it couldn't be a one movie thing, but why couldn't it be done in, say, 3 movies? A Zelda Trilogy. It could adapt dungeons, towns, and an immersive story that could work. I'm not saying that it would be perfect, but, It could work. The only question is would link be a mute or not.

Erm... no. ermmYou remove the dungeons because gameplay does not a good movie make. People don't want to watch a guy run around a maze-like dungeon, solving puzzles, grabbing keys, etc. That's not action. It works in video games because you're the one doing the crawling. Not so in a movie.
It wouldn't be perfect, the dungeons obviously wouldn't the same way as they are in the games, as they would have more monsters in them, more action, and not as much in the way of puzzles.
I think the dungeons could be a good thing in a movie like that.
Look and the Indian Jones trilogy. Its all about going through crazy traps, and sneaking through caves and stuff. It would totally work in a Zelda movie.
The more I think about it, the Zelda franchise could easily transfer to the big screen. It wont be identical to the game, but well its a movie, not a game. They might not want to have a guy in a bright green suit though....
You know, speaking as a huge Zelda fan myself, I could live with watching a movie inwhich Link talks, but even at that, a mute link could be pulled off, you'd just have to have a great writer.
And if you think about it, link was never really a mute, his words were just never written into the gameplay. Like in Link's Awakening when Link Wakes up at the beginning of the game Marin asks link a question, then says something like 'Zelda? no, my name is Marin' So he does speak, just the programmers never wrote what he said in order to keep the whole feel that you are Link.
😂
BTW, Just out of curiosity, who has seen the Legend of Link fan films? I love how often they make fun of link not talking.
Reporter: So link, you now have the Megaton Hammer what are you going to do next?
Link (bobbing head as if talking): ...................
Reporter: Wow, spoken like a true hero.
or something like that. 😛
