Link does talk in the games, its just not shown, or heared but he does.

If I'm not mistaken, most Nintendo franchise characters like Samus, Link and Mario dont talk.

Mario talks...."It'sa me, Mario!"

True. 🙂

Samus is incredibly talkative, it's just been in text so far.

In Brawl, all three of Zero Suit Samus' taunts include speech.

The only time I EVER remember Samus talking was during Metroid Fusion, and most of that was monologues about Adam. Besides, in most games Samus didn't have anyone to talk to.

Samus narrated Fusion, and gave a spoken introduction at the beginnings of both Super Metroid and Zero Mission.

That's right. I remember now.

Was there any in the Prime series?

I dont remember.

I think there was minor narration at the beginning of either Prime or Echoes, but it was a couple paragraphs at the most and, again, not spoken.

However, with Samus' talking in the three most recent 2D games, and the voice acting in Corruption, Samus may get a speaking role soon enough.

I see...

Well, Metriod Prime would be another good example of a game that could translate well into movie.

When Mario got a movie, I think most others can get one too.

i reckon the diablo series would make good movies 😄

Prime had no diologue in it what so ever, the way you learned about everything in that game was from the Logs.

I think that Echoes had a minor narration at the begenning of the game, however, I don't think it was Samus herself narrating it.

Corruption had the voice acting, but samus never said a word.

Personally, I like it when the main characters don't say anything, diologue from that character just separates you from the character.

Yeah.

I kinda of want to see that.....just for shits and giggles.

That used to be a valid point, and one I supported. But since then games have given Mario and Samus their own personalities. It still holds true for Link to an extent, but Samus is a complete character with her own motivations and ways of doing things.

Yeah, I dont buy the "connect to the character" excuse anymore. I prefer a character with his own identity and motivations, but just make sure you care about the character. GTA III had the same reasoning for having the main character mute, but everyone else talked so it wasnt bad, but when Vice City and San Andreas came out I found myself caring about the characters and story a lot more because they were so well written and portrayed.

Wind Waker and TP were improvements over Ocarina when it came to characterizing Link simply because he visually showed emotions. When the next Zelda game comes out they really have no excuse.

I kinda like it, it's fun in its own goofy way.

And who would ever expect Yoshi to be a Velociraptor?

Hmmm....Jurassic Park influenced? hahaha...

Yup, very much.

It's not as bad as it could be, so I urge you to try and see it. For some reason I own it on VHS, no idea where it came from.

Also, by seeing the thread of this title I've kinda thinking about replaying TP again.

Yeah, if I could find it as a rental, I would.

Meh, I probably wont. I have too many games to play.

The Idea went through their heads pretty quickly. From that came a Joke of Miyamoto's which was that if he ever did a Zelda game where link talked, he may do the voice.

All in all, I don't think a talking link in a game would go over so well, just because everyone is so used to a mute link, just like a mute Mario. Seriously, the only thing that Mario ever says is "It'sah me, MARIO!" or the his death dcream "MAMA!" The rest is just random grunts and shouts. That is how link is, just random grunts and shouts. I just think it would be awkward for link to just start talking after 21 years of silence.
