EU = Extended Universe (EXTENDED) that means it hasnt got shit to do with the movies
Canon = as in, canonical, if you want to really extend the refernce you can include the adjective Biblical.. as in the word from the creator (or the Maker as the case may be 😛) in the Bible its God.. in SW its Lucas.. I mean he DID come up with the idea FFS.. does that not matter even a little bit? sheesh
Canon & EU are two totally seperate entities that simply have a little bit of the same backstory.. thats it & thats all..
The movies are primary cannon EU is secondary cannon. Meaning its cannon as long as it doesn't contradicts the movies. GL has said he considers it an alternative universe with a lot of the same things happening. However that is not the stand point of the people that control the EU. And apparently seeing as they are in control its their decision to make. They can decide what is cannon and what is not, and how it relates to the movies. Seeing as they are saying that as long it doesn't contradict the movies its cannon we can be pretty sure that the EU is indeed cannon and indeed does take place in the same universe.
With the exception of a few things every book game and comic released about SW is cannon.

Actually, you don't KNOW. You assume so. It's probably true. But you don't actually know, unless they say "(character's name here) was more powerful than Sidious". You assume that they are stronger than he is. And chances are, you're most likely right. But then again, you don't know. Another wonderful example of bias against Sidious.
