This is exactly how the Harry is a Horcrux came about. Some guy goes.. "WHAT IF HARRY IS A HORCRUX!!!!!!!!!!" and then people start to believe him, and then boom. Here we are now. There is no way Dumbledore is a Horcrux, and Harry too.

I agree about Harry, only because Voldermort has tried to kill him always when they met. But look at the Dumbledore's a horcrux possibility:

1. Voldermort goes to Hogwarts to apply for a teacher position, and he meets Dumbledore.

2. THE ONLY ONE HE EVER FEARED. Never attacked or tried to kill Dumbledore.

3. Dumbledore, gets killed, because he is the last horcrux or one of the last. He allows (orders) Snape to kill him so Harry (Voldermort's match) will stand a chance against him ( ..." I face death in hope that when you will meet your math you will be mortal again"😉

4. The only objection or contra argument to this would be the instructions given to Draco by the Dark Lord to kill ALbus, unless this was only an attempt to get Draco killed as a revange to Luciuse for failing.

I know it sounds crazy, but I still think it makes sense.

It still doesn't make sense. If Dumbledore were a Horcrux, I think he would have waited until all the others were destroyed. What's the sense in allowing Snape to kill him if there are other Horcruxes out there?

maybe there aren't.
To be honest I don't know, and thats a valid point, it just came to my mind, I was trying to figure out, why would someone like Dumbledore die in a such way. I mean he was the greatest wizard in his time. I still beleive he could have defended him self, like Snape did when Harry attacked him. He could have been able to throw Malfoy's wand away, even without his wand.

Dumbledore being a horcrux is a good idea, but how probable is it? JK would go for something that was barely mentioned in the book, or not at all...

yep, I guess for something like" something in CoS would give idea who the HBP is"- she said once 😉
anyway, we have two years ahead to discuss that, and get ideas

But Dumbledore himself told Harry that there were still four horcruxes out there, plus the one in Voldemort's body. Why would he have lied?

As for your other question about Dumbledore dying in such a way, a few of us around here have come up with a few theories to answer that. 😉

very interesting to hear those theories, and I'm open for everything.

I totally agree, Dumbledore seemed way too powerful to die so easily.

But then maybe we are underestimating the potency of that potion, and the water from the cave. I mean, Voldemort devised it, and he assumed that it would be a powerful wizard to get to the locket in the first place, so the defences would have to be pretty powerful.

And let's not forget, Dumbledore was an old man.

Didn't Dumbledore also say that it was dangerous to put part of your soul into something that could think for itself? I think that perhaps, if Dumbledore was a Horcrux, that he'd maybe show Voldemort-ish traits? I don't know, I'm just uncertain that Voldemort could have made Dumbledore a Horcrux, but I still think that his death could be more significant than it appears.

Is Nagini a definite Horcrux?

i DUNNO j.K. PROBLY WOULD, SHE ADDS tons of stuff really subtle, like in book 2 that was when the vanishing cabniet was broken, Peeves droped it on Filches offeice when harry read the Kwickspell letter!!!! every little detail is huge!!!!!!!!!! Like in book 5 when they where cleaning the house there was a heavy locket NOBODY COULD OPEN!!!! maybe a horcux 😄 or in book 6 he passed the broken vanishing cabneit when he went to hide his book. And then when the old bat went to hide her sherry bottles 😖 😱 {we always knew there was a reason she was insame!!} Thats where malfoy wuz!!!!!11111

DUMBLEDORE IS DEAD OKAY !!!!! He had to die because harry has to stop moldy voldy on his own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If suirus and dumble dore where alive, he would go to them for help!!! he has to do it on his own!!!!!!! so every one who would help him cant help him and the only way to do that is to die
🙁 🙁 🙁

I thought so, but now you've made me wonder... I need to reread, but I think it was only Dubledore's guess that Voldemort used Nagini instead of whatever he was going to use with Harry's death. But, I'd like to think Dumbledore knew what he was talking about, so I'd say Nagini's not a definite Horcrux, but there's a high chance of it.

Exactly.

It's pretty much certain that Nagini is a Horcrux.

One rumor I heard was this: What if the snake that Harry let wild in the first book was Nagini? That would be some crazy stuff! 😱

It wouldn't make much of a difference, but that would be kind of cool. 🙂

Spoilers perhaps!.............................................................................................. Ok in one of J.K Rowlings interviews posted on this site, she says that there is a horcrux that no one knows about. She says if you re-read the book you might figure it out. I was thinking, could the horcrux be harry's scar?

i thought of that(the scar i mean) right when i finished hbp, no one would expect it, and the cut would have to be really deep in order to keep such a visible scar for that long/protect a horcrux.

That would be a laugh, and it's sort of JK's style.

And also, it would be one more of the Dark Lord's servants that Harry had allowed to return to him...

Yeah, seeing as it was a guess its kinda hard to say, but why would he put it in the snake? The snake has no defences against anyone trying to destroy the Horcrux, doesnt make much sense, and then when DD said about putting Horcruxes in things that can think for themselves...😕

And the DD theory is stupid😐 DD wouldve just killed Voldemort if he tried to put a Horcrux in him😐 Whats he gonna do, stand there and let Voldemort put a Horcrux in him?

but what if it isn't as far off as it seems. what if the locket was their as a mere distraction. Dumbledore knew that the Horcurx was the potion itself, and he had to drink it, and then Snape killed him then the Horcrux was gone as well. what if the R.A.B. doesn't really exist? what if Voldemort just made it so no one would go for the liquid?

😆 This thread is hugely entertaining, but I feel it would be utterly futile to argue the point further, you're all going around in circles 🙄
