Well, depends on what you count as that. She (which makes her more awesome, as there is a lack of badass chicks in manga) gives birth to Crona seemingly for the purpose of turning him/her into a crazy unstoppable killing machine through systematic abuse. Really though she's more a Ledger Joker than a Light, as her big thing is chaos. Like in a fight her opponent can stitch her to the ground as an attack, so she uses an attack that throws him around the room, causing him to have to stitch himself to the ground instead, much gloating ensues. Thats just badass.

Matsumoto - Disabled, almost dead.
Yamamoto - Dead. Most powerful character in the battle, by a significant margin.
Ukitakke - Possibly dead, but disabled and dying, at best.
Toshiro - Literally, diced to pieces
Soifen - Disabled and slashed to pieces. Dying on the ground watching masacre.
Shunsui - Disabled and slashed to pieces. Dying on the ground, watching the masacre.
Shinji - Disabled and slashed to pieces. Dying on the ground, watching the masacre.
Hiyori - Dude, she's dead...but you know she'll be revived.
Mashiro - Disabled and down for the count.
Lisa - Disabled and down for the count.
Hachi - Arm missing. Still around.
Love - Disabled and down for the count.
Hinomori - Prolly dead. Definitely down.
Kira - Sliced to pieces, down for the count.

And we have 8 dead espada with 1 possibly alive and #0 definitely alive.
So, we have a laundry list of casualities on both sides with dead on both sides, but the "good" guys have many more heavy hitters than the bad guys.

Most of that list was due to Aizen with the exeptions from Allon and Wonderweiss. However as long as Orihime draws breath, that list can be null and void in a heartbeat. Even still there are only two(possibly three) confirmed deaths on the good guy side and none of those are thanks to the espada, which is why I question the captains still being alive at this point.
The vizards were a real dissapointment but that probably because everyone had high expectations for them. I mean c'mon...no beasty releases and the only one that used bankai was presumde to be wtf pwned. Is it too much for a bad guy to win in Shouen manga...really?

Ichigo was killed twice by the same espada; he was brought back to life but still doesn't that count for something? I still say that entire list will disappear the moment Orihime sets foot in fake Karaku because if Aizen's theory about her powers is correct, then that mean the following:

She's still slow with her healing. Besides, Unohana is already there, though apparently, she'd rather just watch Aizen pwn Ichigo.

And, yes, Wonderweiss WTF pwned Ukitakke. Hachi and Soifon got their shit eaten up by Baraggan.
Also, there were more "good guys" than bad guys, and the matchups were barely won, in each category. Seems like the "good" guys were winning, just barely, until Aizen was freed. Since Aizen was stronger than everyone but 1 person, seems rather fair. On top of that, Aizen had fully prepared to take down the strongest.
So, let's back up:
There are massive causalities and damage inflicted to the good guys, and massive causalities inflicted to the bad guys. Espada doesn't really matter since it is a war. You wanted more casualties inflicted on the good guys from the Espada, bla bla bla. That's a tad unrealistic since the good guys have them outnumbered.

I agree. And, I think Starrk IS one of the good guys: he was just emo until Aizen came along because all of the very little Hallows would die around him and there was no one to make friends with. Aizen was the only one strong enough, up to that point, to easily withstand his Reiatesu.
I liked Starrk because it was kind of like Shunsui, except smarter and less perverted (but he's obviously a loli lover, I guess that makes him more perverted because at least Shunsui likes fully grown women.)
In fact, it looks all the primera are good except for Barragan. Grimmjow is obviously good, but has an attitude. So, I'd like to see all of the primera, cept Barragan, back. And also Grimmjow. Grimmjow was a fan favorite and I liked him to. He was just sticking up for his peeps before Aizen came along.

Unohona probably said "Screw this!" and flew to Tokyo the moment Yamamoto was out. In fact, the characters that haven't been shown like the Urahara shouten, Isshin and the twins. and Ryuken all caught the last flight out before this whole thing started.
What's so upsetting about the shinigamin not recieveing huge casualties by the espada is that the top 3 were supposed to be just that: the absolute most powerful, which would make Aizen even more godly.
Another question. How did Stark go from killing off weak hollows just by strolling along to getting killed by a shikai? I don't get it.(or maybe he really was undeserving)
