Who knows. He was going to activate Bankai at will, but Jushiro convinced him otherwise. I'm guessing that the range of Katen's influence extends immensely once Bankai is active.
Assuming he can get his Bankai on, since Shunsui's fast enough to chop off his head before he can react. 😛

I'm not suggesting Tosen could beat Shunsui, since going by portrayal the latter is supposed to be stronger. But in his bankai, I can't think of anything the latter could do. 😛

If someone as smart as Kisuke was confident he wouldn't have found an opening against a cautious pre-transformation Aizen, I doubt Gin would have, even if he did know how to get past KS (which Aizen was waving around Gung-ho), and had not told Aizen about the Poison.

Doesn't refute it being an intelligence feat. :3

Gin was also confident he could get Aizen at his most powerful(at the time). Which did not work for him. I don't know why Gin didn't just betray him when the Shinigami had him surrounded.

Well that defeats the purpose. His Resurrecion is laem. His Bankai is kewl.

I preferred the art somewhat in the middle. Around the SS arc.

Did not work for him then only because of an ass-pulled ability. He'd taken the Hogyoku to prevent something like that from happening, but the Hogyoku returned magically.
Because he was surrounded as well (and at SS, those Menos were close to rescuing all three of them), his hax poison ability likely needs him to be touching the affected area, and Aizen would likely anticipate a strike. He had to catch him unawares, when his guard was down, and when he could nullify KS. Only time that happened was the time Gin pounced.

It is the color on the person and the opponent that counts I think. 😛

Same here. I liked the art during the latter stages of the SS arc. Just not during the introduction arc.

Uchiha Madara, remember. Besides, you'd burned up a helpless white clone, so you deserve to be punched. 😛

You say Yamamoto is "vastly" superior to Aizen, but that turns out to NOT be the case.

If Aizen would not have "stabbed" Yamamoto and instead just slashed him, he would have easily defeated Yamamoto. That was complete and utter CIS/PIS on Kubo's part. Why would he "stab" when He clearly slashed Ichigo while trying to cut him in half? We have a clear precedent of Aizen going for the quick kill using a slash. Pure an utter CIS turned PIS bullshit.

Additionally, Unohana's stats are as follows:

Offense: 100

Strength: 90

Kido/Reiatsu: 100

Defense: 80

Mobility: 70

Intelligence: 100

Look at Shunsui:

Offense: 90

Strength: 70

Kido/Reiatsu: 100

Defense: 90

Mobility: 90

Intelligence: 90

It would seem she has him bested in 2 out of the 3 "pure" battle stats. For a total of 20 points higher in battle power.

If you add in that the most intelligent of fighters also use their brains to win in fights, there's a clear reason why she's better: she outclasses him in multiple areas.

Kenpachi is the exception. I don't know how a slower captain is able to roll over two other captains at once. It's possible that Kenpachi's 100 offense rating is 100+...like Yamamoto's and the rating does not properly catch that. Kind of like Naruto ratings stopping at "5" but there are better 5s than others. For instance, I would say that Minato's speed rating of 5 is superior to any other character with a speed rating of 5.

But, no, the Bleach stats are not bullshit. They work fairly well most of the time. I really can't think of examples where they are utter bullshit except for Kenapachi taking on two captains at once (well...not really at once. Sure, they fought in suppressed forms for a bit...but it went one on one very shortly there after.)

As for this stab vs. slash thing; stabs are faster than slashes and this is why Aizen landed his hit before Yamamoto. Slashes are only viable from such a position when someone is slower than you are. In addition, this stab vs. slash has no bearing on their respective levels of power.

But now let's look at Aizen and Unohana the way you are doing for Shunsui and Unohana.

Tied in offense.
Aizen is +10 in defense.
Aizen is +20 in mobility.
Tied in Kido/Reiatsu & Intelligence.
Unohana is +10 in strength.

He outclasses or equals her in all but strength, but then again, he's demonstrably stronger than Komamura, who is +20 in strength when compared to Aizen.
So how is she supposed to be around Aizen's level again based on just stats?

Nah, they are bullshit, and outdated. Gin's stats don't match up whatsover, Soi-Fon's demonstrated strength pales in comparison to the likes of Aizen, Yamamoto & even Gin, etc etc etc.
