Gong by that shouldn't Byakuya be even more picky/cranky considering his lineage?

Soi-Fon was up against a guy that made her main strength useless leaving her to resort to something that isn't even combat friendly yet still held out.

Sure Ichigo's cranky but he lightens up from time to time. Soi-Fon finds rather small reasons to act an ass.

But Hachigen couldn't have won without her either.

Between the two of them they beat a foe said to be stronger than a captain.

As opposed to, say, Ukitake, who accomplished nothing but getting stabbed, or Komamura, or the non-Hachigen vizards.

Actually, working with Hachigen speaks to her favor- she was willing to use that forbidden skills of, gasp of horror, teamwork and intelligent tactics. They tried to outthink a superior foe.

You're right on all counts but Hachigen needing her to beat Barragan. Their team move didn't kill him and it turns out Hachigen had the one technique that Barragan couldn't defend against.

But yeah, he could have done that on his own. Shit writing is shit.

Nuck my suts when it comes to Soi-Fon. She's got an athletic build without the "zomg...gotsta have teh larj bewbeez" types. She's a bit thin, though. Wish she were a bit thicker.

Soifon is an utter babeatron, dadudemon is definitely right on that account.

Also, Soifon can't be the most useless captain. Komamura was there. Komamura exists to suck and make other people look good.

But yeah, I wouldn't call her showing against Barragan really a "plus", she was completely, utterly, and wholly ineffectual against him. She was also demonstratably slower than him, which really emphasizes that she was completely outmatched. When your foe is superior to you in your main selling point.

But really, why shouldn't Soifon get a little peeved at Ichigo not referring to captains by their titles? 😬

Join the military and refer to Drill Sergeant Phillips as "Bob," and he might just get a little angry too.

Technically, Ichigo is her subordinate, being a substitute Shinigami and their representative in the human world.

But yeah, Ginjo being buried in the human world should not be an issue.

Think of it in the same way that the Marines were getting annoyed when Shanks said that the pirates would take care of the funerals for the pirates at Marineford. In practice, Ginjo is an enemy so Soul Society feels it needs to decide how to dispose of the body. Ichigo feels a kinship of sorts to him, so he thinks Ginjo would like to be buried in the human world. And he would, since he hated Soul Society apparently.

Mind you, this isn't because Ichigo likes Ginjo or forgives him. It's just an act of kindness. 😛

Also, Ichigo finally understood where Ginjo was coming from. At the very end, Ginjo understood where Ichigo was coming form.

Ichigo still killed him though and w/o an ounce of regret or second though.

^ I don't think he's ever had a 'code' against killing his enemies, even if they are human, or whatever it is that Ginjo was. I mean, yeah, it was only because of Tsukishima's delightful mind-f***ery that Ichigo explicitly stated his intent to kill, but I still do not remember him having a code that has him sparing the lives of his enemies. He has tried to kill Aizen after all.

~ Also, had to read the latest chapter to see what the fuss was about. With the exception of Shinji who looked like a douche wearing a tie, Kensei, Rose & Soi-fon all look pretty awesome. Looks like Soul Society is back to full strength.

Well he's spared enemies that weren't human before. He only tried to kill Aizen after his Dangai training; the first time around he was dumb enough to not go for a headshot or killing blow.

Shinji does look like a douche but his reasoning for leaving Ginjo alone actually makes sense. Kensei looks like an even bigger douche though Soi-Fon is pure hotness even if she's an ass.

I agree, even if Ichigo doesn't have a code against killing this is still the first time he's actually done it. It would be nice to have him acknowledge that and deal with it, rather than continue to be his boring stoic self all the time and scowl too much. God I hate Ichigo. Ans yeah, Kensei was more of a douche than Soi-Fon.

Also shouldn't Ginjo come back as a Hollow anyway?

The first time he attacked Aizen in Fake Karakura, he tried to decapitate him. He failed because pre-transformation Aizen was just that awesome.

It does make sense, and I actually agree with Shinji, but again, Soul Society should not even have his body in the first place.
Nah, Kensei looks l337. He's a douche, but an awesome-looking douche. I bet Shuhei Hisagi had an orgasm when he found out that Kensei would be his Captain.

You become a hollow when your chain is finally gone, or when you're forced. Plus you need to have been a soul that had unfinished business. I doubt Ginjou left unfulfilled.
