After reading this chapter, I would once again like to ask where was this when SS was fighting Aizen?

Though that is an impressive temp for Yamamoto. So will any of the remaining captain's bankai be worth a damn after this? I also noticed that there wasn't an actual explanation as to why Bach can't steal his bankai.

Wonderweiss stole his flames so he couldn't absorb them into his sword I suppose.

It's right there in the wording. Abilities.

Ikkaku's shikai and bankai are physical weapons.
Mayuri's goes from Poisoned Blade that can paralyze to Giant Construct spewing Poisoned Gas that paralyzes and kills. So, Poison.

Soi-Fon's is different though. Bach's knowledge is outdated, or Kubo is making shit up as he goes, as usual. Meh.

Ichigo's is also kind of different in that his Bankai gives him increased speed, which his Shikai doesn't do.

Actually, his Bankai upgrades his Shikai's ability to convert Ichigo's reiryoku into an attack, and that is what Getsuga Tenshou is. Increased speed occurs because his Zanpakuto's power has been compressed, as opposed to expanding as is usually the case with Bankai.

Of course, his Bankai is completely different in that aspect, but his Bankai still has an ability that is present in his Shikai.

Anyway, since we got an interesting number I decided to proofread by checking the raw, and there was one key mistake.

一千五百万度 (pronounced: ichi sen go hyaku man do) which translates to 15 million, and not 1.5 million.

Overall a neat chapter I suppose.

regardless of how hot the flames really are, it's evidently great given the comments the other captains made. as far as Bach is now concerned, he might as well be fighting a very small sun.

15 millions degrees, and all that happens is that all the water in Soul Society starts to dry up.

Hahaha I guess they forgot about the whole stealing Bankai at the moment.

Maybe Kubo's already bored of that idea.

They couldn't steal Ichigo's. Maybe they can't steal Yamamoto's.
