I'm not really mad at the manga for not explaining how his ability is supposed to work and contradicting itself all the time. I'm annoyed that I apparently can't complain about it without being called butthurt.

And keep in mind, Kubo's record for explaining shit is pretty darn pathetic.

You're allowed to complain, buddy, just know that I'm gonna be right behind you with the butthurt.

...wait.

It can be implied that Yamamoto's a guardian of hell. You can already tell the guy has a biblical motif so him raising the dead with his flames actually makes a lot of sense.

The Bible also has a a guy who killed an army with the jawbone of an ass. I don't expect Yamamoto to use one of those(he could have burned a donkey)!

Not a fan of bibilical references I take it.

Why would you assume that? I have nothing wrong with references to anything. But just because it's a reference to something doesn't excuse the leaps made with in story logic.

Like, the Sharingan in Naruto is hilarious for this. It's an eyeball but how far they take it's power is hilarious.

His Bankai is hell-themed. He's like a prison warden. For example, his Zanka no Tachi, Nishi: Zanjitsu Gokui translates to Longsword of the Remnant Flame, West: Remnant Sun Prison Garb. The army of the dead he summoned are his prisoners.

I don't care. We were told, not 1 single chapter ago, that Bankai and Shikai share abilities and his Shikai never showed something like this. Sure, when it was said it didn't make sense cause there was contradictions before but if the line is going to be ignored, then why keep it?

Having a theme for a character is nice. But if you can't make it work with the rules you're trying to make, then don't do it.

What will Zanka no Tachi North be I wonder?

A bottle of Sunny Delight.

Taste the power of the sun baby.

Yamamoto's Shikai and Bankai both share fire and maybe when he kills people with his shikai, the flames take their ashes or something.

What will Zanka no Tachi North be I wonder?

Maybe he'll pull a phoenix and be reborn the moment Juhabach makes a comeback that will make us believe killed the old man.

Hitsugaya pulled an ice clone straight out of his ass but at least that was made of, you know, ice and shit.

Honestly, I don't think it was made out of anything but ice: no shit involved.

Pointlessly sacrifice himself a la Ichigo's Final Getsuga.

Bach will survive somehow and we'll all facepalm at how stupid that was.

Lulz, White Beanpole is barely showing any emotion, while the normally stoic Bach is continually surprised, and was scared shitless at one point...

Anyway, near-useless chapter with little to no progression. Just more elaboration on how Yamamoto is more powerful than every other Shinigami in Soul Society combined.
Yamamoto was more badass when he was fighting Wonderweiss & Aizen.

Also, I wonder if Bach is going to use his Vollstandig and Sklaverei abilities.

probably.

Well, I finally found the kanji.

火火十万億死大葬陣

It does in fact translate to ten trillions. However, it's written in a figurative fashion rather than a literal. 十兆 (jut-ch&#333😉 is the literal variant. 十 (jut-) standing for the for the prefix of ten, and 兆 (-ch&#333😉 for suffix of trillion.

十万億 (jū-man-oku) would literally ten - ten thousand - a hundred million.

I'd compare it to the English equivalent of saying thousands of thousands rather than millions, but less literal still. It's an aesthetic approach and not to be taken literally.

so, we can assume that Yama has killed at the very least, 1 trillion people?

impressive.

Or its just an attack name.

attacks in the series have a tendency to be more on the literal side.

You mean like 'Moon Fang Heaven-Piercer?' :I

No you can't, that's the point. It's as Nephthys said, "an attack name."

Either way, I don't see why people are putting such an emphasis on the number.

Personally I'm more interested in whether or not the smoldering skeletons are protected by an armor similar to Yamamoto's. Southwest? Also if they retained the abilities from their previous lives that could be interesting as well.
