not sure what my ethnicity has to do with anything, but anyhow...

See Nephthys's post below.

i already addressed your criticism by pointing out that he's the head of research and development who consistently does experiments on any enemy he comes across, and by pointing out that his new technology was foreshadowed before the fight... now you're admitting that it was foreshadowed, but you don't like the way it was done. You were wrong, m'kay.

Then you're just not capable of deeper reading I guess.

I've repeatedly asserted that the problem wasn't that everyone has had time to prepare, I mean, everyone knows that, and your continued pushing of that fact as though it's something no one considered is frankly stupid.

It's that never has "magic mushrooms that force people to travel through time" been a thing. One that he can apparently set a cosmic prerequisite on. That lasts for an undetermined amount of time. It's an asspull, lol. But as far as Bleach asspulls go it's not that bad, what is bad is that, as I've said, this is nothing new. We've seen this before.

Why is that okay to you?

oh, and i don't care if you don't like him. Your opinion isn't gonna change my own.

But if you can't debate my points that makes your opinion wrong.

Idk, are you only supporting him because you're buttmad that mai waifu literally ass-pounded both of your waifus into sex servitude?

Yes.

It's okay.

Uh...I was just mad that we're focusing on Mayuri instead of Bach stomping the Zero Squad. Which reminds me, why does Ichigo have to use a canon when he's the one who opened the pathway in the first place?

Oh and seriously, what happened to Giselle? This "god prep" stomp won't be complete until Mayuri cruelly kills whomever he's fighting.

I'm hoping Gigi decided to flee while Mayuri was busy with Hitsugaya personally.

She's already dead, Jim- she doesn't know it yet.

Izanami, anyone?

Izanami was also a terrible thing. 👆

I liked the technique itself. Was fairly unique for the series, and it kind of fit in thematically with the whole repeated cycle as well as Kabuto's own development.

The execution and lack of notable foreshadowing is what was terrible IMO. 👆

From what I can tell...it is just like Izanami.

Except for a very very minor detail: it looks like Mayuri cannot directly control how Izanami works whereas Itachi specifies how a person breaks out of the loop.

I dunno, one translation has Mayuri say that Hitsugaya can see into the past, whilst another says that he can see into the future. The latter makes more sense. It's definitely not time travel or manipulation of any kind though, because it's a drug that affects the brain of the target, and Mayuri has made drugs that alter perceptions.

But yeah, I can see why Naruto readers would get Izanami-vibes from this. Hopefully details are given next chapter. From what we saw, Mayuri can set the events which create a loop (or for whatever reason, his death forces Hitsugaya to start over at the phrase "sake of the Seireitei"😉, and unlike Izanami, he doesn't have to actually go through those actions.

Yes, it is a brain technique, not a space-time technique (imo). It is much like Izanami in that regard.

I'll note the foreshadowing would seem stronger in Japanese, as Izanagi is famously a twin.

It'd be like if someone had an ability called 'Apollo' and then an 'Artemis' got unveiled. Or Romulus and Remus.

That's not really foreshadowing though. If I write a book about a guy with a magic sword called "Abel" I wouldn't say it's a foreshadowing for when the big bad ends up having a sword called "Cain".

I'd say that's more of a "reference", maybe.

Not a lot stronger though. To a reader who isn't familiar with Shinto, there's no foreshadowing whatsoever. To a reader who is, you'll expect a technique similar to Izanagi somewhere down the road which is called Izanami.

Map of Seireitei.

Looks like the size of a country to me. 👆

Right, because you think that Bolin managing to use a skill that has been established prior in the series as being possible for an earthbender is the same as Mayuri's super drug that bends time and space (Maybe, there is some debate as to how it works) which allows Mayuri to casually roflstomp whoever he is fighting, whereas even with lavabending Bolin still couldn't beat Ghazan. That's dumb though.
meanwhile, you think a character whose occupation is head of research and development and who has a history of experimenting on pretty much anyone he comes across, AND was seen on panel developing new technology in secret, to the amazement of his subbordinates, is less foreshadowing than a character using a technique he was amazed by, but was never once hinted at having a talent for.

😐

How you're claiming Mayuri's tech is asspull and Bolin using lavabending isn't, is ridiculous.

Mayuri's was a bit more foreshadowed, but it also didn't get nearly as much build-up. Bolin's entire arc was about pulling himself from that awkward "Guy who earthbends and not much else" role he had fallen into somehow, and at first we thought this would be by metalbending. But turns out he's a natural lava bender. An ability that has been shown to be possible for a mere earthbender like Ghazan. Bolin uses this ability to save everyone's lives, in a fight or flight moment, but doesn't manage to beat Ghazan with it.

Mayuri developed lolmagic technology that allows him to easily beat his opposition no matter what they do, leading to an unsatisfying conclusion. It's not even that he pulled out one or two pieces of new technology. He's throwing out new technology for literally every problem he runs into. Bamby-chan's bombs? He has new tech for that. An army of Shinigami zombies? He resurrected the Arrancar. Toshiro Histugaya zombie? He has a sword that auto block his attacks and an easily administered drug that either is basically Izanami or literally conquers time and space. He doesn't have to do anything more than pull out some convenient new unbeatable technology to win.

Marwash you piece of shit, this only foreshadows the ****ing arrancar.

I wish Bleach's lore was explored a bit more. It's such an interesting setting.

If you want an explored setting go read One Piece. 🙂
